Associate of the Year
Second Runner Up: Carrie Besaw

At Celebration Villa of Martinsburg, Carrie Besaw is known for much more than her title as housekeeper.

For 14 years, Carrie has been a steady presence and a true team player, someone who is always willing to step in wherever she’s needed.

Coming in early.
Staying late.
Helping in any department to support the team and residents.

Around the community, Carrie is known as a “spark plug” bringing energy, dedication, and a spirit of teamwork that lifts everyone around her.

Her commitment reminds us that in senior living, the people who make the biggest difference are often the ones who simply show up every day ready to help.

Community Cup Winner: Celebration Villa of Nittany Valley

Some communities stand out not just for what they do, but for how they do it.

Celebration Villa of Nittany Valley has earned this year’s Community Cup, and it’s easy to see why.

Residents describe the community as a wonderful place to spend their retirement years, consistently highlighting the welcoming environment and quality of life they experience every day.

At the heart of that experience is a simple philosophy: Success starts with having the best team in place.

That belief drives the culture at Nittany Valley. Staff members prioritize learning from one another, supporting each other’s growth, and working together to create an environment where residents truly feel at home.

Congratulations to the entire Celebration Villa of Nittany Valley team on this well-deserved recognition.

Drop a congrats to celebrate the team bringing this Community Cup home.

Wellness in senior living isn’t about pushing limits. It’s about meeting people where they are. And Jamie Free does just that.

From residents and staff just beginning their health journey to those who’ve stayed active for years, PLC's wellness professionals create programs that build strength, confidence, balance, and connection.

This career is about more than fitness. It’s about empowering residents and the teams that take care of them to live fully. And when we say "fully" we mean mind, body, and spirit.

We are thankful for Jamie Free of Senior Housing Wellness for his passion for health, his purpose, and the wellness career he has built in senior housing.

At PLC, growth doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when we choose to keep learning.

At our recent Symposium, the energy wasn’t just excitement, it was education in action.

From breakout sessions to leadership training, team collaboration to hands-on learning, this is what commitment looks like at Priority Life Care. We don’t just show up for our residents. We invest in the people who serve them.

Continuous learning isn’t just an event. It’s our culture.

Follow along for more behind-the-scenes moments from Symposium and the leaders and careers shaping senior living.

Grateful to hear from our leaders and speakers: Sevy Petras, Bobby Petras, Ben Firestone, Ken Hartley, CSP, Enoch Paul, MCPC, CM, ACE, and Brian Gallo.

Special Elevation Recognition: Kayla Benson

She didn’t just step into sales. She stepped into someone’s life transition.

All month long, we are highlighting careers that make an impact in senior living, and first up is Kayla Benson, Sales Director at Celebration Villa of Nittany Valley.

Kayla’s path into senior housing started with something simple but powerful: a love for people.

Her passion for building relationships and guiding families through one of the most important decisions of their lives led her to her current role where she has served for just over a year. And in that time, she’s discovered just how meaningful this work truly is.

Her advice for anyone considering a career in senior housing?
"Remember your why." Families are placing deep trust in you during a pivotal season of life. Lead with kindness. Be genuine. Treat every resident and family like your own. When you do, you won’t just succeed, you’ll make a lasting impact.

This is how you ELEVATE sales and marketing in senior housing.

Drop a congrats to celebrate Kayla and the Marketing & Sales leaders who guide families with compassion every single day.

Be sure to follow along all March as we continue spotlighting careers that elevate senior living.

Our CEO, Sevy Petras had an incredibly encouraging meeting with U.S. Senator Rick Scott to discuss the future of senior living and how we can better support the seniors and team members who rely on us every day.

It was refreshing to engage in a conversation where the challenges facing our industry were truly understood, from workforce development to expanding access and choice in care.

Thank you, Senator Scott, for welcoming our Argentum group into your Washington, D.C. home and for your continued commitment to strengthening policies that impact seniors nationwide. We appreciate your hospitality and your focus on practical solutions that support both residents and caregivers.
