Movement matters 🤍

Did you know? Fetal movement is a key sign of your baby’s well-being.
Start counting kicks in the 3rd trimester and get familiar with your baby’s normal patterns.

• Set a timer: Track how long it takes to feel 10 movements
• Stay consistent: Count around the same time each day when baby is active
• Know the pattern: Pay attention to what’s normal for your baby

Notice a change? Don’t wait—contact your provider.

During a recent mental therapy session, a client shared that she was experiencing significant breastfeeding challenges, including pain and engorgement. She did not have access to a breast pump, leaving her without a way to relieve discomfort or maintain her milk supply safely.

During the conversation, our team also learned she did not have a safe sleep space for her 6-month-old baby. Safe sleep education was provided immediately, and arrangements were made for a Pack ’n Play so her baby would have a safe place to sleep.

This comprehensive approach ensured both mother and child were supported, safe, and able to continue their breastfeeding journey with greater comfort and confidence.

is a time to recognize the heart of Healthier Moms and Babies, our dedicated Family Advocates, Nurses, and Doulas who meet families where they are, providing compassionate, hands-on support in the place that matters most: home.

This week, staff came together to enjoy a coffee and boba bar to reflect on the important work they do every day. Our CEO also took the time to write a personal thank-you note to each team member, accompanied by a small gift of appreciation, a gesture that speaks to the value placed on every role within Healthier Moms and Babies.

This week, and every week, we are grateful for the dedication, compassion, and teamwork that drive our mission forward, one home visit at a time.

It's ! 🫶 This week, we're spotlighting the role home visitors play in supporting healthy families and building stronger communities.

"Being a home visitor allows me to meet people where they are, in their most comfortable space. I love being able to provide essential education, connect families to resources they need, and be an extra support person as they navigate their new life."
– Isabel Diaz, Family Advocate

"It’s such a privilege to support families during some of their most vulnerable moments. As a nurse, I get to provide education and walk alongside them, and I’m so proud of the parents I work with and the goals they achieve."
– Ashley G., Nurse Home Visitor

“I’m grateful to walk alongside new moms in one of the most vulnerable and beautiful seasons of their lives. I’m honored to offer not just care, but encouragement, education, and hope as they grow in confidence as mothers. Supporting these families and witnessing their strength is a daily reminder of why I love what I do.”
– Rebecca, Nurse Home Visitor

"Home visiting allows me to meet families where they are, witnessing their lives in their most comfortable and authentic environment. I love having the opportunity to build trusting relationships that go beyond a clinical setting, providing personalized support through the transition of pregnancy and parenthood. It is a privilege to empower parents in their own space and watch their confidence grow firsthand."
– Nikki, Nurse Home Visitor

It's ! 🫶 Home visiting programs support parents and help children succeed from the very beginning. This week, we're spotlighting the role home visitors play in supporting healthy families and building stronger communities.

"The honor and privilege that I have been given to provide prenatal education in my client's homes and then be trusted to guide them to care for the most precious human(s) in their world does not escape me. I think about it every day. I can only hope that I fill my client's cups as much as they have filled mine over the years. They have become treasured friends. I'm so proud of each and every one of them."
– Tara W., Nurse Home Visitor

“I am so proud to be a nurse home visitor and being given the opportunity to provide education and guidance prenatally, postpartum, and through baby’s first couple years of life. I love being able to watch each mama and baby learn and grow over our time together. I hope they are just as proud of themselves as I am of them.”
– Ellyce, Nurse Home Visitor

✨ Save the Dates! June 1-15, 2026!

Support our Annual Community-Wide Diaper Drive! Gather donations of diapers and wipes for families in our community. Diapers are an essential, basic need, yet many families can’t afford them. Keeping babies clean, dry and healthy plays a part in building a strong community. We are dedicated to ensuring local families have access to the diapers they need.

Becoming a parent can bring so many emotions. Joy, exhaustion, love, and sometimes feelings that are harder to talk about.

Postpartum depression is common and treatable, but many parents don’t realize the signs at first. Some symptoms may include:
– Feeling constantly tired
– Feeling persistently sad, hopeless, or overwhelmed
– Difficulty sleeping
– Overwhelming sense of loss
– Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
– Losing interest in activities you used to enjoy
– Feeling disconnected from your baby
– Intense irritability, anxiety, or mood swings
– Feeling like you’re not a “good enough” parent

We loved welcoming the Amp Lab at Electric Works students to the Diaper Warehouse! During their visit, they got a firsthand look at the impact we have on families in our community and even jumped in to help bundle diapers.

As part of their current challenge, these students are partnering with Every Birth Network to create a community campaign focused on maternal mental health. Their energy, curiosity, and commitment to making a difference have been truly inspiring!
