FUNday Friday was all about turkeys!! 🦃 🦃🦃
We PAINTED feathers with loofahs, GLUED a face and CREATED turkeys! This afternoon we PLACED cereal on toothpicks, PRESSED candy into a donut and ENJOYED our turkey donut snacks!!

Why don’t turkeys fly on airplanes?
….they prefer to “wing it!”

SELF-CARE: Parenting is fun but can also be hard. Take time for yourself and recharge so you can pour back into your child. Take an intentional break, go for a walk, pursue a hobby, or spend time with friends. Self-care is good for you and your child.

FUNday Friday was all about 🎃 Halloween 🎃 We DRESSED up and went Trick-or-Treating around the clinic! This afternoon we enjoyed fun Halloween donuts!

FUNday Friday was all about 🎃 Pumpkins 🎃 today!! We PICKED colors, PAINTED pumpkins and can’t wait to take these home! We GLAZED icing and SCATTERED sprinkles on pumpkin cookies. They tasted so yummy!!

Chapter Update: TFSC added sensory updates to our waiting room, conference room, and circle time area. Our clients have enjoyed exploring these spaces. Thank you to Jennifer Weber for her incredible work!

Halloween can be stressful for kids, making them feel overwhelmed, confused, and dysregulated. Consider the following to make it easier:
🎃 If your child needs preparation, try reading books about Halloween, or look at pictures or videos of trick-or-treating, and talk about it
🎃 If costumes cause stress or discomfort, consider character shirts or Halloween PJs
🎃 If your child doesn't want to trick-or-treat, give them the option to pass out candy or make alternate plans, such as watching a movie or eating a special treat
🎃 If your child can't or won't say "trick-or-treat" or "thank you," write it on a card and hang it with a lanyard around their neck
🎃 If the evening is too long, go to a few houses and then return home
🎃 If your child is all done, make sure they have a way to tell you, and then honor it to help them stay regulated
