Last night, I watched midweek service at Power Church and it was about getting rid of the old to make space for the NEW!
Leviticus 26:10 says- You will still be eating last year’s harvest when you will have to move it out for this year’s new harvest.
It really spoke to me!
Going into this I was holding on to Shane’s tracheostomy and him having it. It’s been a crutch for so many things he’s had done in the past. It’s been helpful to have in scary situations.
It has literally been a part of my everyday life since May of 2023.
It saved his life.
While I know that everyone around me has been very excited for this procedure to get it out, I’ve been holding on to my feelings of grievance for this darn tube.
I even made a joke to the doctor, do you teach intubation classes? She laughed and said NO Brittany! You aren’t going to need that anymore!
So, after hearing the sermon last night, I realized I was holding on to an old crutch. Something that had always been there, but in order for God to put new things in Shane’s life I need to release the old to make room.
So today, I will stop staring at this trach that is no longer inside of his neck and release it.
I thought about throwing it away, but I learned children in Mexico have a shortage of trach’s, so I am going to figure out how to send these out to them!
Matthew 9:17 You cannot put new wine into old wine skins, they will burst. You have to use a new wine skin. ♥️
