🌟 Employee Spotlight: Larran McKinney, Certified Nurse Assistant 🌟

Say hello to Larran McKinney, one of our dedicated Certified Nursing Assistants at the Fort Worth office!

Larran has officially been in healthcare since 2015, but her heart for caring for others started even earlier. At just 13 years old, she began volunteering at the hospital alongside her mom — and it’s clear that compassion has always been part of who she is.

She has been in hospice-related care for almost 3 years, with experience in home health and similar care settings in Oklahoma before joining hospice.

What Larran loves most about her job is being able to slow down and truly be present with her patients. She values the time she gets to ensure they receive the best care possible, while also listening to their stories and getting to know both them and their families. For Larran, it is incredibly meaningful to serve others and bring light during such a tender season of life.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, and unwinding with Grey’s Anatomy or just about any Taylor Sheridan series and staying busy with her beautiful 7-year-old. 🫶🏻

Fun fact: Larran used to be a softball pitcher!

We’re so thankful to have Larran as part of the Valor team and for the heart she brings to those we serve every day. A favorite in so many of our facilities that we partner with. 💛

✨ Employee Spotlight: Sheila Shirley, Weekend On Call Registered Nurse ✨

This week we are excited to shine the spotlight on Sheila Shirley, our Weekend RN Case Manager for Fort Worth!

With five years of nursing experience this June and over two years in hospice, Sheila brings compassion, heart, and dedication to every patient and family she serves. Her favorite part of the job is the people, and she feels deeply honored to care for those who are in one of the most vulnerable seasons of their journey on this earth.

When she’s not working, Sheila enjoys gardening, all things plants, hiking, and soaking up the joy of being a new grandparent. She also shared how much she appreciates being part of the Valor Hospice family over the past two years and how special it has been to watch the company continue to grow.

We’re so thankful for the kindness, comfort, and care Sheila brings to our team and the families we serve every step of the way.
