The application for Texas Education Freedom Account (TEFA) program is now open! Families can use TEFA funds to pay early education expenses, including tuition for preschool and kindergarten at accredited child care programs. Texas is proud to be the first state to carve a path for more educational options for families with young children, which could alleviate pressure on the child care scholarship system waitlist.

Families of preschoolers should begin their applications now—they will need to prepare additional documentation to verify their child’s eligibility.

Due to unsafe road conditions, there will be no residential Solid Waste collections today or tomorrow, Jan. 28. This includes garbage, recycling, yard waste, and bulk waste. Regular garbage and recycling collections are set to resume on Thursday, Jan. 29, following the normal Thursday routes. As winter weather continues, City of Arlington Police, Fire, Public Works, and Water Utilities are reporting to work to keep essential services running and roads as safe as possible. City of Arlington facilities will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026: https://bit.ly/4pWIBXW
