One simple way to move anxious energy is rhythmic tapping.

When you tap your feet back and forth, you create a gentle bilateral rhythm that signals safety to the nervous system. It helps the body release excess activation and come back into regulation.

Try it for 10–20 seconds the next time you feel overwhelmed.

Some breathwork sessions feel amazing and some feel like a complete train wreck. (Me this entire week!)

Both count.

Every time you sit down and breathe anyway, you are training your nervous system.

Regulation happens in the practice. Resilience is built in the repetition.

JUST KEEP SHOWING UP!

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is pause.

Close your eyes for a moment.
Breathe in through your nose.
Exhale slowly and whisper to yourself:
“I am safe.”

Regulation begins with reminding the body it’s okay to soften.

One minute can change the state of your nervous system.

This is uncomfortable to share.
I still deal with fear. A lot. Especially when I’m stepping into something bigger than the version of me that feels safe.

I wish I could say I’ve outgrown it. I haven’t.

What I’m doing differently now is not trying to outrun it. I sit down. I get quiet. And I let it be there.

The tight chest.
The “what if this fails?”
The urge to shrink back into what’s familiar.

Sometimes I want to distract myself so badly. (Hello scrolling on Instagram…)

But I stay. And in that staying… something shifts.
It’s subtle. But it feels like carving a new path in my brain.

I’m not fearless. I’m just not letting fear make my decisions anymore. And that is starting to feel like freedom from something that has chased me for decades.
