When we have any sort of injury in our bodies, the first step to healing is awareness. It is vital that we take responsibility for ourselves by getting out of the black box of what's happening.
Often, we hand over our power to a medical professional and diagnosis without truly understanding what's actually going on. Yes, western medicine is amazing, yet we must play an active role in our own well-being.
Once we get a clear picture of what's happening, we can begin to live and move in a way that promotes health.
Back pain is so predominant in our society and if you are a yoga teacher, know that a good percentage of students in every single class you teach are currently dealing with back pain.
In our Anatomy & Physiology course led by Stacy Dockins, we discuss the three major categories of back injury along with how to support healing within a yoga and mindfulness practice. We take a look at the healing facets of movement, neural mapping, nutrition, mindfulness & breath work.
