Today, we honor and remember all mothers.

To the ones cradling life in their womb…
To the ones who have held their baby for only a moment or for a lifetime…
To the ones who became mothers through adoption, surrogacy, or the selfless gift of love…
To the ones who are longing, grieving, hoping, or remembering…
To the ones in the thick of motherhood, exhausted and overflowing…
To the ones guiding, nurturing, and standing in the gap as mothers in every way…

You are seen. You are cherished. You are powerful.

Motherhood isn’t one shape, one story, or one journey. It is strength. It is sacrifice. It is resilience and deep love. Whether your arms are full or your heart is heavy, today we honor the beauty, bravery, and sacredness of what it means to mother.

From one mother to another,
Happy Mother’s Day.
With love,
Beautifully Created Birth Services

Today is International Day of the Midwife and as a licensed midwife, my heart is overflowing.

Becoming a midwife isn’t just a career milestone—it’s a calling. An appointed assignment. A continuation of the work I’ve poured into for years as a doula and birth worker. Through Beautifully Created Birth Services, I’ve always believed in the power of personalized, faith-rooted, and culturally competent care—and now, as a midwife, I’m honored to stand in even deeper service to the families I support.

Also as a black midwife I am honored to serve, knowing that representation in birth work isn’t optional—it can be life-saving.

On this day, I pause to say thank you:
To the midwives who paved the way.
To the midwives quietly showing up every day with strength, skill, and compassion.
To the midwives advocating for better care, safer births, and holistic support.
You are seen. You are needed. You are making a difference.

One of my favorite passages that fuels my work is found in Exodus 1:17:

“But the midwives feared God and did not do as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the male children alive.”

These women—Shiphrah and Puah—show us what it means to choose courage over compliance. To protect life. To answer a higher call.

Like them, I midwife with faith at the center of my work. And with deep reverence for God as He entrusts me to play a role in every life I am honored to serve.

Today, I celebrate midwifery.

The ancient, sacred, life-giving art that continues to transform the world—one birth at a time.

Happy International Day of the Midwife.

With love, from a beautifully created midwife.

Reintroducing Beautifully Created Birth Services

A new look. A deeper calling. The same heart-led care.

If you’re new here— hi, I’m so glad you’re here. And if you’ve been part of this space for a while— welcome back.

After nearly a decade of walking with families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, I’m so honored to reintroduce Beautifully Created Birth Services—now including midwifery services.

Beautifully Created Birth Services has grown, but the mission is still the same:

To hold space and educate.
To nurture confidence and informed consent.
To walk with you through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond.

I believe birth is not just a physical event—it’s spiritual, emotional, and deeply transformational. I believe in informed choice, body autonomy, compassionate care, and holding space for you to feel seen and supported.

Through Beautifully Created Birth Services, I offer:
• Midwifery Care
• Labor & Postpartum Doula Support
• Virtual Childbirth Coaching
• Lactation Counseling
• One-on-One Consultations
• Placenta Encapsulation
• Faith-Based Birth Prep for Christian families

As a mother and a professional with years of hands-on experience, I bring wisdom, compassion, and personalized care to every family I serve.

Whether you’re preparing for birth and postpartum, processing a past experience, or simply looking for guidance— this is a space for being beautifully supported.

Follow for education, encouragement, and real talk about pregnancy, birth, postpartum and motherhood.

This is the face of disbelief- of being bone-tired and weary; the face of ‘how long?’ and ‘how much more?’; the face of ‘when will this end?’ ...... Ms. Willow, my faithful girl, my dependable companion, who stoically weathers every storm with me, got to be the one today as the two of us quietly absorbed and digested the gargantuan news that, yes, Commonsense Childbirth School of Midwifery is now accredited by MEAC. It took all day..... allllllll day......to realize that it was real. That my direct-entry midwifery training school is the FIRST and ONLY Black-owned and nationally-accredited private midwifery training school in the United States of America. It took all day.......alllllllll day to figure out what to say, what to do, even how to BE, about that. It took all day. Just as it has taken 5 years to reach accreditation, 10 years of operating a midwifery school, 17 years of running a free- standing birthing center and Easy Access Clinic, 25 years since starting a home birth practice, 31 years since moving to the US and nearly 40 years since certification as a British-trained midwife. It took all day to acknowledge that after allllllll these years this is just the beginning. If anyone was wondering what drives me - it is this! I am about scale, I am about volume, I am about reaching as many as I can - there is no time to lose. I am in the business of saving lives. This opens a pathway for midwives of color to again become autonomous community providers, to address and redress the historical, structural and institutional inequities that continue to decimate Black and indigenous people, and to restore trusted birth workers to the heart of their communities once again.

Today is World Prematurity Day! Let's take the time to honor and remember those little ones born too soon that have fought for their lives and miraculously lived on, are currently fighting and those who have become little angels in heaven.

Testimony: I was born premature at 32 weeks weighing only 3 1/2 pounds so this is near and dear to my heart. 💜 I am living proof that premature birth survivors do not all face a lifetime of disabilities or complications like doctors often predict. Thank God for that!

Praying for all the families who have ever experienced having a premature baby.

"An estimated 15 million babies are born too early every year. That is more than 1 in 10 babies. Almost 1 million children die each year due to complications of preterm birth. Many survivors face a lifetime of resulting disabilities."

Let me tell y'all about these DELICIOUS LACTATION COOKIES! Not only does she bake them fresh but she also sells the cookie dough so that you can keep it in your freezer and make your desired amount at your convenience! As a postpartum doula, I like to get these for my breastfeeding postpartum moms. They are so good that I had to buy myself a container of cookie dough....and I'm not even lactating! 😳 Please check out Mylk by Cookie () to find out more about these tasty cookies. And to make it even better, Lillian aka "Cookie" is such a sweetheart and awesome entrepreneur. I'm glad to know her! http://www.mylkbycookie.com/

Last week I finished up with one of my postpartum doula clients, Kecia. I miss them so much already! It was such a pleasure working with and supporting her and her family! Kecia is an amazing mother, woman of God, businesswoman, foodie 😋 and one of the most real and down to earth people I have met! Pretty much, she is all around superwoman! And big kudos to her for keeping up with breastfeeding both her newborn and toddler! Kecia and her husband are doing an awesome job raising their two daughters and are a beautiful family inside and out! I am so honored to know them!

I love it when I establish a lasting relationship with my clients and in the end gain a very dear friend! I cannot wait to watch the girls grow up over the years 😊 I love what I doula!
