Meet Blink Eye Associates:
Eye care professionals receive extensive training to not only let you see better with the corrective devices such as eyeglasses and contact lenses but examine the overall health of your eyes. Systemic diseases and conditions can affect your vision, many of which do not have obvious symptoms. Our doctors conduct routine eye care, cataract and refractive surgery consultations and emergency eye care services. They give the utmost care to our patients and take the time to explain every step of your eye exam in great detail.
Dr. Sonam Patel, O.D.
Dr. Sonam Patel grew up in Shelby, North Carolina. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with a Minor in Business Administration from the North Carolina State University in 2009. She later moved to Houston, Texas to attend the University of Houston College of Optometry where she earned her Doctor of Optometry in 2013. During her time at the college Dr. Patel was a student instructor for ocular anatomy for the Texas Optometry Career Opportunities Program (TEXOCOP) and teacher’s assistant for the first year clinical procedures laboratory.
During her clinical rotations, Dr. Patel received extensive training in managing various ocular pathologies such as dry eyes, glaucoma, diabetic and hypertensive retinopathies and macular degeneration. She was also able to directly observe multiple surgical procedures and co-manage cataract and LASIK patients. In addition to primary vision care, Dr. Patel has a passion for specialty contact lens fitting.
