Today’s bird focus is: PENGUINS 🐧.

We spent our morning learning all about penguins. We discussed penguin characteristics such as they don’t have any sense of taste, they can swim up to 25 mph, and depending on the type of penguin they make some really silly sounds!

We really enjoyed seeing them in action and reading our book “Waiting On Mama” written by Gianna Marino 📖

BIG celebrations today! My friends were so excited for our new playground. Not only did we get to climb, jump, and swing; we also celebrated our sweet friend’s 3rd birthday with cupcakes and dancing 🥳🎉 check out our story to see all the FUN!

Our theme is BIRDS! This week we are focusing on a different part of the bird, today we focused on the body. We discussed different shapes and sizes of all types of birds. While reviewing bird types, my friends correlated our yoga poses to the shape of a flamingo and eagle! I love how all of our learning becomes connected in the end. A full circle moment 🤩🦩🦅.

What a fabulous day we’ve had learning all about birds! We’ve been reading “Hello Bird!” by Leslie Falconer, and we’ve learned about hummingbirds, peacocks, cardinals, and even a bird called sandpiper! We planted wildflowers in our garden and hung up our hummingbird feeder. Then we finished our day creating nests out of twigs, leaves, moss, and hay! Check out our story to see all the fun🌷🦚🦉🦢🐓

One on one sight words today! My little technique to teach sight words is to spell each word, this allows the child to connect the letters and their order which forms the word! And of course she was a rockstar 🤩🤩.
