Today we reflect on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and the profound love revealed on the cross. Good Friday calls us to pause, remember, and give thanks for the gift of redemption. Even in this solemn moment, we hold onto the promise that hope is never lost.

"But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed." — Isaiah 53:5

We had a little excitement around the pond yesterday…
Some of our staff spotted what appeared to be a CROCODILE floating in the water! 😱
Thankfully, it turns out this surprise visitor was all in good fun — just a playful April Fools joke done in loving memory of one of our beloved former residents, Ray Smith, who always had a great sense of humor and loved a good laugh.
We think Ray would have gotten a real kick out of seeing everyone’s reactions! ❤️
Thank you to our team for being such great sports — and for keeping the smiles (and a little bit of panic!) alive around here.
Did we fool you? 😄

⭐ Attention Family Members ⭐
We’re excited to introduce a new opportunity for families at Good Shepherd Home—the Shepherd Family Alliance.

This group is being developed by our Social Services Department to support family members as they navigate the journey of having a loved one in our care. The goal is to provide helpful coping strategies, along with tools and resources to make this time as smooth and manageable as possible. Just as importantly, it offers a chance to connect with others who truly understand what you’re experiencing—building a sense of community and support along the way.

While conversations may naturally include your loved ones, this group will not focus on the day-to-day operations of Good Shepherd Home. Instead, the focus is on you—providing encouragement, guidance, and support throughout your journey. Topics may include finances, loneliness, guilt, Alzheimer’s/dementia, and decision-making.

In the coming days, you’ll receive an interest survey by mail, and there will also be an option to complete it online. Your feedback will help us shape this group—determining things like meeting days, times, frequency, and length—so it best meets your needs.

More details to come soon, but for now, we’re excited to bring this meaningful new program to our community!

A Gentle Reminder About Photos at Activities
We love seeing the joy our activities bring and understand the desire to capture those special moments. To help protect the privacy of all residents—especially those who have requested not to be photographed—we kindly ask that families refrain from taking photos or videos during group activities.

Thank you for helping us create a safe, respectful environment for everyone in our community.

✂️📸 A wonderful day of creativity at Good Shepherd Home!

On Saturday, we welcomed a talented group of scrapbookers for our annual Scrapper’s Crop, where creativity and community came together for a special purpose. Throughout the day, participants worked on beautiful scrapbook layouts capturing memories from our residents’ activities and outings over the past year.

These pages will become part of our Good Shepherd Home scrapbook, helping preserve the moments, friendships, and experiences that make life here so special.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared their creativity, and helped document these memories. We are also grateful to Norma Robbins for organizing the event and to all who helped make the day such a success!

📷 Enjoy a few photos from the day!
