Keep them home if they have:
❌ Fever (100.4°F+) within the last 24 hours
❌ Persistent vomiting or diarrhea
❌ Trouble breathing
❌ Low energy and unable to meaningfully participate

When in doubt, check in with your Pediatrician 💙

🌸 Spring Allergy Season Is Here!

If your child has sneezing, itchy eyes, or a runny nose this time of year, seasonal allergies may be the cause.

Here are a few ways to help:
🌼 Keep windows closed on high-pollen days
🌼 Wash hands and face after outdoor play
🌼 Change clothes after spending time outside
🌼 Talk to your pediatrician if symptoms are persistent, as medications may be needed

Healthy Sleep = Healthy Kids

Good sleep is essential for growth, learning, mood, and overall health. As routines get busy, consistent sleep habits matter more than ever!

Here are a few simple tips to support healthy sleep:
✨ Keep a consistent bedtime and wake time (even on weekends)
✨ Create a calm bedtime routine
✨ Keep screens out of the bedroom before bed, and at least 1 hour before bedtime
✨ Make the room cool, dark, and quiet

We’re excited to share that Edinger Pediatrics is participating in CHOC’s pilot program with the Thompson Autism and Neurodevelopmental Center (TANC). 💛

This program allows eligible children to be evaluated for autism right here in our clinic, often in as little as a few weeks. Children ages 2 to under 5 years may be eligible and must meet specific criteria.

If you have developmental concerns and would like to learn more, talk with your Edinger Pediatrics pediatrician to see if this program may be a good fit.

It’s Heart Health Month ❤️

Keeping hearts healthy starts early—and small daily habits can make a big difference!

🥗 Encourage balanced nutrition: Aim for fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats while limiting sugary drinks and highly processed foods.
🏃 Prioritize daily movement: Kids should get at least 60 minutes of physical activity a day—whether it’s sports, dancing, biking, or active play.
💤 Don’t forget sleep: Adequate sleep helps regulate blood pressure, metabolism, and overall heart health.
🚭 Model heart-healthy habits: Avoid smoking/vaping around children and set an example with healthy lifestyle choices.

Heart health is a lifelong journey, and building these habits early helps set kids up for a healthier future.

📱🕒 Healthy Screen Time for Kids

Screens are being used more often than ever. Though they definitely have their uses, too much screen time in childhood can impact sleep, behavior, and overall health.

Here are a few tips to keep screen time healthy:
- Set daily limits and create screen-free zones
- Encourage outdoor and creative play
- Model balanced screen habits as parents

For more guidance and information on the impacts of screen time on development, check out this CHOC article: https://health.choc.org/the-effects-of-screen-time-on-children-the-latest-research-parents-should-know/
