📢 November Food Drive — Supporting Our Framingham Community ‼️

🦃 As many families face uncertainty during the government shutdown and possible delays to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, our clinic is hosting a Food Drive all November to support our local neighbors.

🍂Why this matters:
SNAP benefits are a critical lifeline for many families, seniors, and children. With added strain on these programs, more local households are struggling to access nutritious meals.

🥫How you can help:
Donate non-perishable food items – such as:
• canned vegetables, soups, beans
• pasta, rice
• peanut butter, cereal
• other shelf-stable staples

📦 Drop off at our clinic any weekday between 12:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. during November.

🤝 Spread the word to friends, family, and coworkers: every share and every small contribution helps.

💬 Encourage others who are able to donate or volunteer with local organizations serving families impacted by benefit delays.

📍Where your donations go:
All collected items will be distributed to the Pearl Street Cupboard & Café at Park (46 Park St., Framingham) via United Way of Tri‑County, which serves thousands of local residents each month.

💰In addition, their “Feed‑A‑Family” program is helping families fill a full holiday-meal spread (turkey, sides, dessert) during November-December. A gift of $50 supports one family’s holiday meal via this program.

🍜 Most needed items:
• Canned vegetables & fruits
• Beans, soups, chili
• Pasta, rice, cereal
• Peanut butter & jelly
• Shelf-stable milk or milk substitutes
• Healthy snack items (granola bars, fruit cups)
• Holiday meal items if possible (stuffing, cranberry sauce, pie filling)

👊🏼 Let’s come together to make sure no one goes hungry this season.

Thank you for your generosity and compassion ❤️

Last but not least, meet our founder and co-owner Julie Hubbard, PT, DPT, MS, CSCS in 60 seconds ⏱️ ⚽️

Julie has an extensive athletics background having played NCAA Division I soccer at both Penn State and UConn. During her six-year college tenure, she tallied various musculoskeletal injuries including multiple ACL tears. These hardships ultimately propelled her into the field of sports medicine, where she earned her clinical doctorate in physical therapy from Northeastern University.

Throughout her career, Julie has worked with hundreds of high school, college, and professional athletes. She aims to help people of all ages and abilities reach their rehabilitation and sport performance goals, but is particularly passionate about helping injured athletes return to sport after ACL reconstruction. This has ultimately led her to found the New England Return to Sport Center, whose mission is to provide premier out-of-network sports physical therapy and injury prevention services to athletes around the state of Massachusetts.

Julie is an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and EXOS Performance Specialist (XPS). She has also acquired her certifications in Dry Needling for Orthopedic Rehabilitation and Sport Performance (Structure & Function), Sportsmetrics ACL Injury Prevention, Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), and Personalized Blood Flow Restriction (Owens Recovery Science). She believes in empowering her patients with the self-efficacy needed to optimize recovery. While she enjoys implementing manual therapies, she particularly values the utilization of therapeutic exercise. She appreciates staying current with the literature and applies evidence-informed techniques to practice daily.

Last installment of How Well Do You Know The NERSC Team!

🤓 We got a little bit nerdy with this one… Who has the highest and lowest Beighton score? Drop your best guesses below👇🏼

✨ What’s Your Beighton Score? ✨

The Beighton score measures joint flexibility on a scale from 0 to 9:

A high score means you’re more hypermobile (extra flexible joints).

A low score means you’re less flexible or have normal mobility.

Knowing your score can help guide safe training, rehab, and performance goals! 💪
