🧥 Our "Caring Closet" Supports Patients in Need 🧦

At MetroWest Medical Center, we believe in providing care that goes beyond medical treatment. That's why we’re excited to announce the opening of our Caring Closet, a new initiative designed to support patients with essential items they may need as they leave the hospital.

🪥The Caring Closet is stocked with coats, socks, sweatshirts, winter hats, gloves, and toiletry kits containing soap, deodorant, a toothbrush, comb, and other personal care items.

These items are available for any patient in need, ensuring that they leave feeling warm, comfortable, and cared for. Our dedicated care teams are able to access these resources and provide them to patients who may be facing difficult circumstances.

💬"We want to make sure that when our patients leave, they feel comfortable, safe, and respected," says Sam Dahlstedt, Director of Radiology, who led the initiative.

This thoughtful project was made possible through generous donations from our hospital staff and is already making a meaningful difference for patients facing tough situations like homelessness or emergencies that result in lost belongings.

💬 “Offering something as simple as clean clothes or a toiletry kit can make a real difference,” said Maureen Mancini, Director of Emergency Services.

We hope the Caring Closet will continue to grow and serve as a reminder that a little kindness goes a long way in helping patients not just medically, but personally, as they take on life’s next steps. 💜

🌼 Honoring Extraordinary Compassion and Care 🌼

Today, we proudly recognize Amy Lebron BSN, RN, one of our ICU nurses, as the recipient of the prestigious DAISY Award. 💜

Amy was nominated by a woman who tragically lost two loved ones in a fire. In the ICU, Amy cared for the patient and family with incredible kindness and sympathy. They shared:

"She was very caring and I felt very safe when she took care of my older sister... She went above and beyond to care for us as a family, not just for my sister. We will never forget her."

The DAISY Award honors nurses who combine extraordinary clinical skill with compassionate care, making a profound difference in the lives of patients and their families. Amy truly exemplifies that mission. 🌼💛

Please join us in recognizing our DAISY Award honoree for the profound difference she makes each and every day. We are fortunate to have her on our team! 🌟
