The Serendipity Place is a spiritual community of inspirational quotes, stories, and a place for the spiritually curious. I am a Reiki Master energy healer and practicing psychic medium. I offering healing readings and hundreds of crystals for all the good vibes. I began my pursuing my journey of becoming involved in spirituality in 2008 after the tragic loss of a close friend. I found immediate comfort in visiting spiritual stores as well as seeing psychics and mediums to receive messages from heaven. I was comfortable in exploring this world because I knew I always had a sixth sense of intuition and was sensitive to the spirit world. I am a strong believer in there being life after death and that our loved ones can communicate in even the simplest way of a sign. Over the years I wanted to put my blessing to work and learn how to make it more powerful to help myself and to help others. I have completed many courses over the years including Angel Messengers of Hope, Reiki 1-3, Pranic Healing, Psychic development, mediumship development, meditation, Akashic records, Shamanic Journeying and more. I've dived into my gifts and now use my knowledge and abilities to help heal others.

Ancient smudging reveals real atmospheric chemistry beyond mystic belief

For centuries the Native American practice of smudging, burning sacred herbs like sage, sweetgrass, and cedar — has been revered as a spiritual way to cleanse the air, calm the mind, and restore balance. Now science is beginning to show that some elements of these ancient traditions have measurable effects on the world around us. A study published in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology found that when medicinal herbs are burned to produce smoke in a closed room, airborne bacterial counts can drop by more than 94 percent within about one hour, and the space can remain largely free of those bacteria for up to a day afterwards.

It’s important to point out that this experiment didn’t test sage alone, and it didn’t make any claims about viruses or full air sterilisation. However, it does show that the chemical compounds released in the smoke from burning certain aromatic plants can interact with aerial bacteria in ways that reduce their presence in the environment.

Smudging has always been rooted in deep cultural meaning and spiritual intent. Today’s science helps us appreciate that there may be real atmospheric chemistry behind some of what our ancestors observed long before modern laboratories existed. This doesn’t replace established air‑quality practices like proper ventilation and filtration, but it does broaden our understanding of how natural compounds interact with microbes and air chemistry.

My Story

The Serendipity Place is a spiritual community of inspirational quotes, stories, and a place to continue your spiritual path with me. I am a Reiki Master and Teacher of all three levels of Reiki as well as a practicing psychic medium. I began my pursuing my journey of becoming involved in spirituality in 2008 after the tragic loss of a close friend. I found immediate comfort in visiting spiritual stores as well as seeing psychics and mediums to receive messages from heaven. I was comfortable in exploring this world because I knew I always had a sixth sense of intuition and was sensitive to the spirit world. I am a strong believer in there being life after death and that our loved ones can communicate in even the simplest way of a sign. Over the years I wanted to put my blessing to work and learn how to make it more powerful to help myself and to help others. I started with first taking a course as an Angel Messenger of Hope where I began discovering I had a number of “claires” as a natural gift. I began to make friends who were also into the spiritual world but also alternative healing, which lead me to get certified in Pranic Healing and Reiki (both energy healing modalities for alternative medicine). I continue to practice my skills and learning and using them as much as I can. I had the opportunity to take a Mediumship course with Candace Dalton, niece of medium Maureen Hancock as well as other workshops with Maureen herself. In all the courses and classes I've taken I've learned how to use my energy to help heal and during this journey I realized this is what I was meant to do.
