We had an amazing afternoon with Dr. Jin Joo, St Patrick's Manor's consulting psychiatrist discussing Mood and behavioral symptoms in dementia. She talked about common symptoms in dementia including depression, anxiety and agitation, and offered practical tips for management of these symptoms.

This annual award is given to an employee of St. Patrick's Manor who most exemplifies the core values of the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm. Modeled on the life of Venerable Mary Angeline Teresa Mc Crory O.Carm., the foundress of the Carmelite Sisters, she asked those who joined her to be “Kinder than Kindness itself” to the residents and to create a homelike environment where they could live out their lives in dignity and peace. Carmelite homes were to meet the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of the elderly and see each as an individual.
