Understanding the cremation process can bring comfort during an otherwise overwhelming time.

When a death occurs, Goodwin Funeral Home or Archer-Weston Funeral Home is contacted. Once your loved one is brought into our care, we begin caring for them with dignity and respect.

An arrangement meeting is then held to gather the information needed, during this time, families may also spend time with their loved one before cremation for final goodbyes and positive identification.

Once all requirements are met, cremation may take place. Indiana law requires a minimum of 48 hours from the time of passing, a signed death certificate from the physician, and a signed cremation authorization before cremation can occur.

When the process is complete, we will contact you so your loved one may be returned home or taken to their final resting place.

Yesterday Shari celebrated her 25th work anniversary with us! We have said it before and will say it again, we are so blessed to have her. Shari is an incredibly hardworking person, and we would not be able to provide our very best services without her.
