💜 2025 Alzheimer’s Walk – Chillicothe
What an incredible day! Our team, “Valley View Forget Me Nots,” joined together to walk yesterday for a cause that means so much to all of us. With the help of our amazing staff and community, we not only met our $1,000 fundraising goal — we exceeded it by nearly $600! Your kindness and support through our community bingo and donations made this possible.
A very special moment came when Charla Mathuews, our Director of Social Services & Admissions, was chosen to carry the White Flower and lead the walk. The white flower represents the hope and belief that one day, we will see the first survivor of Alzheimer’s disease. It’s a powerful reminder of why we walk — for the memories, the families, and the future. This ceremony was an emotional one.
We could not be more proud of our team and everyone who stood with us to support such an important cause. Together, we walk for hope, for love, and for a world without Alzheimer’s.
While our team reached its goal, the event as a whole has not yet met the overall fundraising target, and every dollar still makes a difference. If you haven’t yet donated, there’s still time to help us push closer to a world without Alzheimer’s. Contact Charla or Sarah and we will get your donation where it needs to be. A special thank you to the Rucker and Baer family, the Frankfort Masonic Lodge, and Greg Cottrell for your generous donations. Thank you as well to these vendors and community members who provided prize baskets for our community bingo event held last month:
* Assurance Behavioral Health
* Heartland Hospice
* NCR Hospice
* Ohio’s Hospice
* Glitter Mom
* Valley View Employees
* Danielle DePugh
A special shout out to Veronica Amato, Community Engagement Manager |with the Alzheimer’s Association who supported us through this event making it awesome, and Hazel Tanner for providing the DJ service and being a lifesaver when the transformer blew. Want to also thank the Chillicothe Police Dept. for keeping us safe!
What a great event!
