Kentucky Women's Cancer Screening Program Informing, educating and linking women to breast and cervical cancer screening services.

The Kentucky Women's Cancer Screening Program of the Department for Public Health provides breast and cervical screening and follow-up services, professional education, public education, outreach, quality assurance and surveillance. Screening and follow-up services are provided by local health care professionals through contracts with local health departments. The program is funded through federal funds and is part of the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program.

Our Division of Women's Health was thankful to take part in the recent release of a new report on the status of women's health in Kentucky as part of Women's History Month.
The report was developed in partnership with the Kentucky Commission on Women and is a collection of public health data indicators related to Kentucky women, such as rates of insurance coverage, chronic disease prevalence, cancer mortality rates, mental health data, domestic violence rates, perinatal and maternal health indicators, and data related to the well-being of high school girls.
Many thanks to our division director Dr. Stephanie Rose, our outstanding intern Anna Gummere and epidemiologist extraordinaire Sivaram "Ram" Maratha for their collaboration on this project!
