My loveseat of more years than I can even count was finally retired this weekend. And look who is helping me break in my new therapy couch! Dog approved! And client approved!

A fresh year. A fresh perspective.

Thank you to my clients for being part of the journey — here’s to growth, momentum, and meaningful wins ahead ✨

Time for a reset. To set your intention for this new year. Have you picked your word yet?

I’m a big believer in choosing a word for the year and seeing how it begins to impact our year!

“Loving yourself is essential. Others loving you is a bonus.” -Ripple, 2025

This is on Netflix and is such a sweet and thought provoking show. Did I mention sweet? And this line is where it begins.

Such a good reminder. I think I read this book years ago and while I can’t remember a lot about it, I love this recap of the four agreements.

Do you have one that you resonate with today? I thought it was the first one but then I realized im leaning into more…always do your best.

I have been thinking a lot about expectations. Especially unrealistic expectations of myself. So for today, I find it is kind and compassionate to do the best I can and let go of the rest—trusting that that IS my best. As Jim Carey said, “I am enough. I have enough. I did enough.”

This is so helpful and so kind!

Let’s face it… We all get stuck sometimes. And sometimes in the stuck moments we’re not really sure what to do or even what to ask ourselves.

So when in doubt, be gentle with yourself…

In case you were wondering, what shame looks like in dogs….

she heard me come in from outside and already had put herself in timeout after she finished off my breakfast!

But a quick and hopeful distinction between guilt and shame is guilt= I’ve done something bad vs shame=I AM bad.

Well not entirely sure what I was thinking when I signed up for an international trauma congress in Barcelona! But grateful for this cool little device that translates these sessions!

Sometimes things don’t always turn out as we’d hoped or thought when we take risks. There have been numerous frustrations with attending but I’ve made some new friends from Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, and Argentina! And in spite of some of the frustrations I also got to hear Gabor Mate speak twice and now I’m purchasing all his books!

I’m curious if anybody else out there struggled to ask for or receive help?

I came home from being out of town with a cold. And i cancelled plans I had for this evening to try to take care of myself (and also not share germs).

My friend texted and asked if she could bring me dinner. At first I said no. “I got it…I’m fine. I’m going to the grocery and will make a pot of soup when I get home…”

She asked again if she could bring something for me…

This time I accepted and received her kind gesture.

I’m just wondering what makes it so hard for us to receive the love and care from others?

And I’m so grateful I chose to receive. Now I have something soup to warm up!
