Mindful Movement Therapy

Mindful Movement Therapy Specializing in the treatment of eating disorders. Offering individual & family therapy. However, you have found me, I am excited to start this journey together!

Mindful + Movement
Being in the presence of your life means being conscious - being aware of your thoughts, emotions, choices, and body sensations - but in an intentional, present kind of way. It means choosing your path mindfully and knowing that healing is not linear. It’s having an awareness that any conscious movement no matter how small, it is movement bringing you closer to transmuting what no longer serves you. It’s the micromovements that allow us to move more comfortably through the healing journey and I am here to help you gracefully do this with empathy, compassion, and a knowing that alignment between body, mind, and soul helps us to become our most authentic self. As a clinical therapist, I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders, athletes with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, women's health, and grief. At Mindful Movement, I offer individual and family sessions tailoring treatment to the unique needs of the client & family. In addition to the clinical practices at Mindful Movement, I also offer Life Coaching and Reiki sessions to those clients interested and can learn more on my website. The somatic approach to working with my clients energizes me most and so, if you are someone wanting to explore the mind + body + soul connection, we may be a good fit to working together. Along with my passion to working with clients, I am also a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist - Consultant who is passionate about supervising, consulting, and educating other therapists, medical offices, and/or other allied health professionals about eating disorders.

Top 10 Things I Wish Everyone Knew About Eating Disorders.....

✨Eating disorders are not choices; however, recovery is a choice.

✨They are often coping strategies that have become harmful.

✨You don’t have to be “sick enough” to deserve recovery.

✨Recovery is about healing the underlying needs, not just changing eating patterns.

✨Full recovery can include physical, emotional, and relational healing.

✨The sooner someone receives help, the easier it is to reduce long-term suffering.

✨Isolation and secrecy fuel the disorder.

✨They are serious mental health conditions, often linked to coping with trauma, anxiety, depression, and/or control.

✨There is no single path to recovery, and it may take several attempts to get there.

✨✨✨Full recovery IS possible, but not everyone gets there.✨✨✨

This is what my full recovery looks like to me (see photo below, living fully in my recovery): eating all foods, trusting my body, living my values out loud, and creating a life bigger than the eating disorder ever allowed.

If you’re waiting to be “bad enough”…
You already qualify for support.

At Mindful Movement Therapy, we believe healing doesn’t just happen in session; it also happens through stories, education, and voices that remind us we’re not alone. 💜

We love sharing resources with our community & clients, especially books that challenge diet culture, deepen self-compassion, and support eating disorder recovery.

Check out some of Heidi’s favorite authors and books below.

These authors have shaped conversations around body image, intuitive eating, and weight-inclusive care, and we’re grateful for the impact their work continues to have in our community.

✨ Learning is liberation.
✨ Representation matters.
✨ Every BODY belongs.

You don’t have to carry this alone. 🤍
If something in you has been waiting for permission to reach out, let this be it.
Asking for help is not a failure — it’s a powerful step toward care, support, and healing.
Whether you’re struggling yourself or worried about someone you love, help is available and you deserve it. Reaching out can feel hard, but you don’t have to know exactly what to say — just starting the conversation is enough.

EDAW 2026
Every BODY belongs. Every BODY matters. 💜

In honor of Eating Disorders Awareness Week, we are celebrating body diversity, body respect, and body acceptance in all its forms.

Today, we’re honored to welcome Yuli Iniguez, MS, LPC-IT, ATR-P from Orenda Counseling, to lead our Adult Eating Disorder Process Group in a powerful experiential body image activity. Together, we’ll explore healing our relationship with our bodies through curiosity, connection, and community.

At Mindful Movement Therapy, we believe:
✨ Bodies are not problems to be fixed
✨ Worth is not measured in size
✨ Healing happens in safe, supportive spaces
✨ Every BODY deserves dignity and care

Grateful for collaboration, courage, and community as we continue this work.

✨ Reminding every person that they are worthy of support and recovery

We are proud to stand alongside many of our local colleagues, clinics, treatment centers, families, and clients to bring more awareness around eating disorders.

In recovery, it’s common to look back with self-judgment — wishing you had known sooner, chosen differently, or healed faster. But the ways we cope are often shaped by what we needed to survive at the time.
Healing begins when we meet ourselves with compassion instead of blame. You learned what you could, when you could. Recovery isn’t about erasing the past — it’s about honoring what it taught you and continuing forward with patience and care.
If this speaks to you, let it be a reminder: forgiveness is part of the healing process. 🤍
