Our Journey
In November of 2014, at the young ages of 19 and 23, we lost our mom, Ginger Stutts, after a long fight with colon cancer. Experiencing the slow, vicious cycle of cancer with our mom followed by a journey of grief after her death gave us a new perspective of the funeral service business that had been a part of our lives for as long as we could remember. We finally understood what it felt like to be sitting in the “reserved” section at a funeral instead of being the ones serving a family during their time of loss. In June of 2019, we found ourselves in the “reserved” section yet again when our dad, Tommy Stutts, suffered an accident that took his life unexpectedly. This loss shook us to our core, as we were left parentless in our twenties. While our journey has been nowhere near easy, we are grateful that our trials have given us the opportunity to relate to each family we serve on a personal level. As we move forward, our hope is that we can honor the legacies of our grandparents (Tom & Esther Stutts), our aunt (Leesa Stutts-Cothran), and our parents (Tommy & Ginger Stutts) by continuing to serve our community with the same level of care and respect that our community is accustomed to. Our heart is to honor our loved ones as we help you honor yours.
With Love,
Katy Stutts Hannah & Elizabeth Stutts Gilbert
