1. Take a break from screens!
2. Let them serve themselves! Encourage small amounts & remind them: "You can always get more if you're still hungry."
3. Talk about positive & neutral subjects! Ask simple questions, share stories, & model calm communication.
4. Patience! Toddlers eat at their own pace & in their own way.
5. Routine! Offer meals/snacks every 2-3 hours, around the same time each day.
6. Offer choices! "You can choose apples or crackers."
7. Water between meals & snacks!
8. Clear & simple rules! Consistent rules that work for the both of us.
9. Learning to eat can be messy! If throwing or dumping food, it may mean "I'm not hungry anymore." That's a cue they can be excused from the table.
