On May 31, 2003, serial bomber Eric Robert Rudolph
was arrested by a rookie police officer at this Save-A-
Lot in Murphy, NC while rummaging through the store's dumpster. Rudolph had been on the run for five long years, taking shelter in the Appalachian Mountains during one of the most intense manhunts in American history.
