👉"Should I do a gut microbiome scan or a GI-MAP stool test?"

They sound similar… but they actually answer very different questions.

👉Gut Microbiome Scan
• Shows bacterial diversity
• Tells you what microbes are present
• Gives ratios of “good vs bad” bacteria
• Mostly informational
• Often does not explain why symptoms are happening

👉GI-MAP Stool Test
• Detects pathogens like H. pylori, parasites, and bacterial infections
• Measures gut inflammation markers (calprotectin)
• Evaluates intestinal permeability markers
• Assesses digestive enzyme output (elastase)
• Looks at immune markers like secretory IgA
• Helps build a targeted treatment protocol

Both tests can provide insight, but when someone is dealing with symptoms like Hashimoto’s, bloating, constipation, reflux, or nutrient deficiencies, the GI-MAP gives clinically actionable data that actually guides treatment.

Curious if the GI MAP test could help you?

If you have Hashimoto’s and your face looks more round or puffy lately, that’s often what people refer to as a “moon face.” It’s usually caused by fluid retention in the tissues, especially under the eyes and around the cheeks.

Here's what can actually help:

• Optimize your thyroid labs
Your Free T3, Free T4, and TSH should be truly optimized, not just barely within the lab range.

• Prioritize protein at every meal
Protein helps stabilize blood sugar and reduces cortisol driven fluid retention.

• Reduce inflammation triggers
Focus on whole foods and limit ultra processed foods, excess sugar, and common inflammatory triggers.

• Support lymphatic drainage daily
Walking, rebounding, dry brushing, facial massage, and regular movement help move fluid out of the tissues.

• Hydrate properly
Consistent water intake with electrolytes helps regulate sodium and fluid balance.

• Improve gut and liver health
Constipation, dysbiosis, and sluggish detox pathways can contribute to inflammation and fluid retention.

If you’re dealing with Hashimoto’s and noticing these changes in your face, it’s your body asking for deeper support...

You can load up on biotin, collagen, and selenium… but if you’re constipated most of the time, your hair won’t see the benefits.

Here’s why:
👉Constipation slows digestion and makes it harder to absorb the very nutrients your hair needs (iron, zinc, protein).
👉Toxins and hormones can get reabsorbed into the bloodstream, fueling inflammation that impacts hair follicles.
👉A sluggish gut microbiome means less butyrate and fewer anti-inflammatory signals, leaving your scalp and strands struggling.
👉And let’s not forget, constipation and an underactive thyroid go hand-in-hand, which directly affects hair strength and growth.

Healthy hair starts with a healthy gut. 💆‍♀️

If your gut isn’t happy, your hair won’t be either.

Every image in this carousel was built using foods that are especially powerful for that specific organ. What your body is made of matters.

Your thyroid
Your gut
Your hormones
Your skin
Your hair
Your brain
Your heart

They are not separate systems. They are constantly talking to each other, borrowing nutrients, competing for resources, and responding to stress, inflammation, blood sugar, and nourishment.

If you have Hashimoto’s, you feel this more intensely. But this is not just a Hashimoto’s conversation. This is a whole body conversation.

Food is not just calories. It is information. It is raw material. It is what your body uses to rebuild itself every single day.

When nutrients are missing, systems suffer quietly at first. Then loudly.

This is your reminder that healing is not about doing more. It is about giving your body what it actually needs to function well.

👉Most people with Hashimoto’s don’t have a “thyroid” problem....they have a gut problem, a stress problem, and a “trying every random supplement I see on TikTok” problem.

👉Your thyroid isn’t broken. But the way you treat your body might be.

👉You can’t keep blaming your thyroid for everything while ignoring the habits that are making you feel worse.

👉If you’re skipping meals, living off coffee, or cutting out every food group because some influencer said so, you’re not “healing” your thyroid....you’re stressing it out even more.

👉Hashimoto’s doesn’t need you to be perfect. It needs you to be consistent with real food, gut support, and the basics your body is craving.

👉Stop waiting for the perfect protocol. Start with the simple things and do them every single day.

This is the group of women that keeps me going when life feels heavy, busy, beautiful, confusing, and everything in between.

Celebrating International Women's Day 💞March 8th

As much as I love family and all the people who make life meaningful, there is something so powerful about the support of women. The kind of friendship that checks on you, laughs with you, reminds you who you are, and holds you up when you need it most. That kind of love is one of the greatest treasures in life, and I never take it for granted.

Today was such a beautiful reminder that strong women do not just exist, they show up for each other. They celebrate each other. They carry each other. And that kind of support is priceless.

👉Tell me in the comments, who supports you the most in this season of your life? Your mom, your husband, your children, your grandparents, a lifelong best friend, or maybe even a new friend you met not that long ago. I’d really love to know.

Growing up in Europe, March 8 was celebrated like Christmas, but for women.

Starting in first grade, boys would hand girls a flower with a little card that said, “Happy March 8.”

It was such a beautiful tradition that taught us early to honor the strength, beauty, and heart of a woman.

Today, I’m celebrating powerful women, true friendship, and the kind of support between women that deserves to be treasured forever. Strong women inspire each other, lift each other up, and remind each other who they are even on the unstable days 😅

Happy International Women’s Day to all the beautiful, resilient women out there. Send this to a friend who makes your life better just by being in it.

Here are five common mistakes I see all the time and what to do instead 🙌

1) Taking thyroid medication inconsistently
Take it the same time every day with a full glass of water and wait 1 hour before eating or drinking coffee so your body absorbs it properly.

2) Skipping strength training
Many people with hypothyroidism struggle with lower muscle mass. And muscle is one of the biggest drivers of metabolism.

3)Saying no to treats all the time
Total restriction often backfires. Plan small indulgences occasionally so you can stay consistent without feeling deprived. ‼️When treats are planned, they stop feeling like “mistakes.”

4) Skimping on sleep
Poor sleep increases hunger hormones and makes weight loss much harder. Aim for consistent, quality sleep.

5) Not enjoying the simple things in life
Stress slows progress. Sometimes it is as simple as relaxing, laughing, going for a walk, or holding your cat.

Your body is always talking to you....are you listening?

From hair loss to joint pain, bloating to brain fog, every symptom is a sign that your body is trying to communicate something important. It's like a red flag waving, saying, "Hey, something's out of balance!" Whether it's gut health, inflammation, or hormone imbalances, paying attention to these signals can help guide you toward the right path for healing.

Remember, these symptoms aren’t just random....they’re your body’s way of telling you it needs some care and attention.

Over the last year and a half I’ve been doing something most dietitians won’t talk about...because my body and my thyroid needed more support than food and supplements alone could give me.

Here’s what I’ve personally used:

👉GHK-Cu aka "glow peptide" for skin regeneration, collagen production, etc. (my knees have been through multiple marathons)
👉Glutathione for antioxidant protection, thyroid support, and detox pathways
👉NAD+ (not technically a peptide but rather a coenzyme) for mitochondrial energy, focus, and cellular repair

For me, it is not about chasing trends. It’s about supporting the body at the cellular level, especially when you’re managing something like Hashimoto’s where inflammation, oxidative stress, and sluggish energy are constant themes.

👉The biggest changes I’ve noticed
Clearer skin
More stable energy
Faster workout recovery
Less overall inflammation
Better resilience during stress

And yes, I always cycle and use them strategically.

‼️I source everything through a licensed compounding pharmacy which means you are not getting random peptides off the internet. You are getting prescriptions that are properly tested, properly reconstituted, and safe for subcutaneous use at home. That was non negotiable for me.
