Jennifer Swain

Jennifer Roxanne Swain, 48, of Franklin, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025, with her sister and daughter by her side. She was born on September 5, 1977, in Laconia, New Hampshire, and was raised in the Tilton/Northfield area, where she spent most of her life. She graduated from Winnisquam Regional High School. She was born to Lynn (Spicer) Dostie and Stephen Swain.

Jennifer was well known by many throughout the community. She began her career as a waitress at Jim’s Drive-In in Northfield, where she was recognized for her extraordinary hospitality in the service industry. Jennifer was truly a jack of all trades and never afraid to try something new. She proudly worked hard for many years as both a painter and a landscaper with Jones & Jones LLC. Jennifer was never afraid to show up and give her all, earning respect through her dedication and work ethic in every role she took on. She was determined to do and be the best she could, no matter what the challenge.

Jennifer was known for her big smile that lit up every room she entered and for her bubbly, outgoing personality that anyone could instantly love. Her warm smile and uplifting presence had a way of giving your soul a hug—one you didn’t even realize you needed at the time. She was a ball of energy and love, never afraid to share it, especially with those closest to her. She never went a day without making sure that love was felt by others, and for that, we are beyond lucky.

Jennifer was a true nature girl at heart. She spent much of her time outdoors, often scavenging the woods for little treasures from Mother Nature. She would gather these unique items and turn them into her own creative creations, bringing her ideas to life. Her mind was filled with imagination, and creating brought her an unimaginable joy. Everything Jennifer did in life was done with purpose and love—and she excelled in both.

Jennifer is survived by her children, Wyatt B. Charbono and Ivy Storey; her sisters, Wendy Swain, Kelly (Swain) Robinson, Stephanie (Swain) Paulhus, Amy Dostie, Andrea Dostie and Felicia Dostie; and her beloved grandson, Giovanni Serrano. She was predeceased by her mother, Lynn Dostie, and her father, Stephen Swain.

Calling hours will be held on Monday December 22, 2025, from 4:00–6:00 PM at Thibault-Neun Funeral Home in Franklin, New Hampshire.

Graveside services will be held at a later date in the spring.

Her love continues to grow, rooted in the earth and carried on by those who loved her.

Virgil Joseph Klink

Virgil Joseph "Joe" Klink, a man of faith and dedicated combat veteran, passed away peacefully

on Friday, December 5th, 2025, at the age of 87, in Franklin, NH. His wife Irene and several of

his children were at his side. He was born on Thursday, November 3rd, 1938, in St. Paul, MN,

to the late Joseph W. Klink and Loretta M. (Hartzie) Klink. His formative years were in the

Minneapolis St Paul area where his family and friends knew him as Butch. Joe’s working life

started with 21 years in the United States Air Force. After the service, he spent many years in

the lumber business where he led and managed stores for Gerrity Building Supply as well as

Steenbeke & Sons. Joe was well-respected for his leadership and work ethic both in and out of

the military.

Joe was humble about his service. He simply didn’t talk much about his time in the Air Force

where he served first as an Aircraft Mechanic and then as a C-130 Flight Engineer. As an

engineer, he demonstrated exceptional skill and bravery on many missions. On one particular

combat mission in Vietnam as the flight engineer, the aircraft sustained significant damage from

enemy ground fire. His actions went above and beyond the normal call of duty, and he earned

the Distinguished Flying Cross for that mission. During his lengthy career in the Air Force, Joe

served overseas at several locations, including a 14-month tour flying in and out of Vietnam. He

also served in multiple places here in the states including Pease Air Force Base. It was while

serving at Pease that he met and married his wife of 63 years, the former Irene Cote. Together,

Joe and Irene continued to serve and grow their family until his retirement in 1977 when Irene

had one special retirement present, their youngest son.

Joe found joy in the simple pleasures of life, working tirelessly with his hands and his heart to

raise six children in Franklin with Irene after his military retirement. His hobbies were wide-

ranging: from skilled home renovation to bird watching, Joe approached life with a strong

conviction to do well and live honorably. Joe’s legacy is carried on by his beloved wife, Irene T.

(Cote) Klink of Franklin, NH, and their six children: Christine Klink of New London, NH; Robin

Grevior and her husband Jason of Franklin, NH; Ernest Klink and his wife Sandy of Cocoa, FL;

Roger Klink and his wife Julie of Gilford, NH; Todd Klink and his wife Stephanie of Cortland, OH;

Jon Klink and his wife Jamie of Wasilla, AK. He is also survived by his brother, Larry Klink and

his wife Roxanne, his stepbrother Frank Malinowski Jr., and his fifteen grandchildren: Alexander

Klink, Tyler Ryne Klink and his wife Saskia, Nicholas Grevior, Victoria Klink, Jessica Klink

Knesnik and her husband Tim, Haley Anne Klink, Nathan Grevior, Paige Laurette Klink, Ryan

Grevior and his wife Michelle, Zachary Joseph Klink, Chloe Hernandez, James Klink, Cora

Klink, Ava Klink, Daniel Klink, and Ajax Klink, and his two great-grandchildren, Payton Grace

Klink and Grace Noelle Grevior. Joe was predeceased by his parents Joeseph and Loretta, his

stepmother Bernie Klink, his stepfather Frank Malinowski Sr., brothers Richard and James,

sisters Chloe and Judy, and his daughter-in-law, Tamara Noelle Klink.

Visitation will be held at Thibault-Neun Funeral Home in Franklin, NH, on Wednesday,

December 10th, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Paul

Church in Franklin, NH, on Thursday, December 11th, 2025, at 11:00 am. Following the Mass, a

graveside service with full military honors will be held at the New Hampshire State Veterans

Cemetery in Boscawen, NH, at 1:00 pm.

Joe and his wife Irene generously donated to many faith organizations. In lieu of flowers, please

consider a donation to Salesian Missions (www.salesianmissions.org), St Joseph's Indian School

(https://give.stjo.org), or St Jude's (https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html), three of

their favorites.

Arrangements are under the care of Neun Funeral Homes, www.neunfuneralhomes.com. Joe’s

life was one well-lived, marked by love, honor, and dedication. He will be deeply missed but

fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.

John Arthur Leonard

John A. “Jack” Leonard, 79, formerly of 11 Hemlock Drive, Belmont died on November 23, 2025 at Golden View Health Care Center in Meredith after a period of declining health.

Jack was born in Laconia on May 8th, 1946 the son of the late Allan J. and Mary E. (Kidney) Leonard. Raised and schooled in Laconia Jack was a graduate of Laconia High School class of 1964.

Prior to his retirement Jack was fortunate to pursue many areas of employment from musician to clothing store manager, to salesman, to police officer, to a locksmith ultimately retiring from the State of New Hampshire Department of Corrections.

At a young age Jack was a self-taught musician and able to play by ear. While in high school he began playing bass with many local bands throughout the Lakes Region and at many venues that included the former Teen Haven at Weirs Beach, aboard The M.S. Mount Washington, The Margate in Laconia and many other clubs. Upon graduation from high school Jack was employed by the former Reliable Clothing in Franklin as the store manager. He was employed by the Laconia Police Department as a patrolman for several years serving under Chief Harold Knowlton. With his personality, Jack was a highly successful Electrolux vacuum salesman in the Lakes Region, a job and product he genuinely enjoyed, a job he had fun doing, often recognized as, “that’s the guy who sold me my vacuum”. He truly enjoyed the people he met and being invited into their homes to demonstrate his product. After a motor vehicle accident that prohibited him from demonstrating vacuums, he secured a job with the State of New Hampshire Department of Corrections working his way up to a Sergeant, Security Specialist servicing prisons in Manchester, Concord, and Berlin. Notably, as printed on the front page of the Concord Monitor on April 27, 1996, Jack received the Medal of Honor, the highest award for officers at the Department of Corrections for his quick action after hearing a woman’s voice screaming for help, he raced to the aid of a 21-year-old college student working for the summer as a guard at the state prison who had been attacked by an inmate, saving her life.

Upon his retirement Jack held many part-time jobs to keep busy, even serving on his condo association board as Treasurer creating several templates that made it easy for the association to see where it was financially at any given time, a position he took very seriously. He also enjoyed playing his organ loud enough for all to hear often missing a phone call or two. No matter the season, it was important for Jack to keep the grounds around his property maintained and neat, often having his driveway cleared before the plow arrived. As he took pride in the appearance of his home, Jack always decorated outside for his neighbors to enjoy, especially with his Christmas lights.

Besides his parents Jack is predeceased by his wife of over 30 years, Bonnie G. (Annis) Leonard; his first wife, Sherry (Blanchard) (Leonard) Beauregard; his daughter, Melissa J. (Leonard) Wheaton and his brother Frank Leonard.

Jack is survived by his son Christopher Leonard and his wife Janice of Graham, Washington; his daughters Ann Manley of Manchester, and Cathy Raymond and her husband Ron of Laconia; his brother, Bruce Leonard of Lakeland, Florida; his grandchildren, Crystal Roy, Brandon Hughes, Castava Donavon, Jordan Feaster, Cody Leonard, Alex Breton, Kyle Leonard, Samantha Raymond, and Tabbi Raymond; seven great-grandchildren and his son-in-law, David Wheaton also survive Jack.

A graveside service will be held in the spring at the family lot in Union Cemetery, Academy Street, Laconia with a time and date to be announced.

For those who wish, Jack has suggested memorial donations in his memory be made to the New Hampshire Humane Society, P.O. Box 572, Laconia, NH 03247 or visit www.nhhumane.org.
