"And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

Thank you for being dedicated to Mercy’s mission and this is one of those years that we need you more than ever. Our year-end campaign is for uninsured patients like musicians, day care workers and waitstaff. Mercy provides financial aid to these essential workers based on income level and household size. These friends and neighbors are on the rise and we need your help so they can stay healthy with sick and well checks as well as mental health appointments.

Pastor Corey Howse of Connection Hill Primitive Baptist Church came to Mercy for Bible Study! Thank you for sharing Advent with us and some Christmas carols. 🎶 Pastor Howse reminds us of Joseph’s plan and God’s purpose for him. Joseph’s life was interrupted. The purpose of the interruption was not for Joseph or Mary or marriage, it was to bring Jesus in. Joseph obeyed and listened to the voice of God.

Have you been interrupted by God? Were you interrupted for a greater assignment? As Pastor Howse shared, Jesus doesn’t wait on our lives to be perfect, he just steps into the messy and the complicated unprepared places.

As we head into the giving season, let's remember our own neighbors. The current state of healthcare globally is dire. Access to quality and affordable healthcare remains one of the greatest challenges of our time. We believe no one should choose between seeing a doctor and paying for groceries. Many of our own neighbors are falling through the cracks of the healthcare system.

Mercy is a safety net for these individuals and families. Mercy offers financial aid based on household income and size. We fundraise the gap between the amount a patient pays and the actual cost of their care through donors, like you!
