Detroit's own Marshall Fredericks- the artist behind the spirit of Detroit, also created this sculpture of the lion and the mouse. Many of us remember seeing it at Eastland Mall, today he now lives at St. John hospital in Detroit.

As of July 2024 In the European Union a new law was set that single use plastics must be attached as shown here. All plastic drink bottles up to 3 liters must have the attached cap. A couple reasons for this law is to reduce the caps from polluting the oceans and rivers and to ensure both cap and bottle are recycled together.

This story ties to the St. Elizabeths flood of 1421 in the Netherlands. Legend has it at Kinderdijk , after the flood waters swept through , villagers spotted a cradle floating on the water. In that cradle was a baby and balancing it was a cat to keep it afloat.
The nearby windmills (as you see here)helped with the management of the areas flooding.
