At Transitional AFC, we celebrated with a little creativity, a lot of laughter, and some very colorful cookies 💚🍀

Today our residents spent the afternoon laughing, making crafts, and celebrating together. Everyone picked out their hats, glasses, and decorations, and the room quickly filled with smiles.

Moments like this are what make a house feel like home. We believe adults with developmental disabilities deserve a life that includes friendship, celebration, and meaningful daily experiences — not just care.

One of the best parts of the day is getting out into the community and picking out ingredients for dinner. Today was all about corned beef and cabbage for our St. Patrick’s Day meal!

The smiles say it all. Being part of the process — choosing the food, feeling the excitement of the holiday, and enjoying time out in the community — makes moments like this special.

At Transitional AFC, we believe everyday experiences like grocery shopping can be meaningful opportunities for engagement, joy, and connection.

It’s a chilly St. Patrick’s Day morning, so he wanted to stop for coffee and a donut before heading to the workshop. He picked out his treat, waited in line, and enjoyed a few quiet minutes by the window before starting his day.

💚 Welcoming our newest resident to Transitional AFC

We are excited to welcome a new member to the Transitional AFC family!

One of the first things he wanted to do was prepare his own lunch. With a little guidance, he got right to work making his sandwich and enjoying the process.

Moments like this are what we love to see — building confidence, practicing life skills, and creating a sense of independence in everyday routines.

At Transitional AFC, we focus on supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in developing the skills that help them participate in daily life and feel proud of their accomplishments.

We are happy to have him here and look forward to many more great moments ahead. 💚

🎳 Game Time at Transitional AFC!

Today our living room turned into a bowling alley! Residents had a great time taking turns rolling the ball, aiming for the pins, and cheering each other on.

Moments like these are what make a house feel like a home. Activities that encourage movement, participation, and social connection are an important part of daily life here.

At Transitional AFC, we focus on creating opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to stay active, engaged, and connected with others — whether that’s through community outings or fun activities right at home.

A beautiful day for a community outing. 🛍️

Today we headed to the mall where everyone had the chance to explore, make choices, and simply enjoy being out in the community.

We stopped at Bath & Body Works where residents enjoyed washing their hands and smelling different fragrances. Daija picked out beautiful butterfly air fresheners for her room along with five scents she loved. Jason had a great time at H&M trying on hats and finding styles that made him smile.

These moments matter. Community experiences support independence, personal choice, sensory engagement, and confidence.

At Transitional AFC, we believe life should be full of opportunities to explore, laugh, choose, and enjoy everyday experiences just like anyone else.

Evening fun at Transitional AFC! 🍰

Tonight’s activity: cake decorating night!

We had frosting everywhere, sprinkles flying, and a lot of laughs around the table. The best part wasn’t the cake (even though it looked pretty good)… it was the smiles, teamwork, and joy everyone shared together.

Moments like these turn a house into a home. 💛
