Today, we are spotlighting one of our clients who has graciously shared what access to technology means for him. Thank you for sharing your story!
"I am currently a resident client at The Ranch. I am writing to share how much the support of United Way has meant to this community, and to emphasize a critical need that continues to grow amongst the clients: Better access to technology.
For many of us, a computer is no longer a luxury; it has become essential for progress and success. Whether it is a student, like myself, trying to keep up with their peers or an individual looking to build a better life through employment, technology is the tool that makes it possible. Increased access to laptops, tablets, and reliable hardware would help to change the lives of current and future clients here at The Ranch in several different ways. Access to these materials would not only empower clients searching for employment, but it would also promote educational success and digital literacy, a skill that a majority of the clients coming through The Ranch lack.
The generosity of United Way helps to bridge a gap for individuals like myself and others in my community. Access to these technologies would further help to close that gap, strengthening our community and providing us with more services and opportunities that would allow us to improve and reach our potential.
We here at The Ranch are incredibly grateful for the support we have received thus far, and we look forward to a future where everyone in our community has the digital tools they need to succeed.
