Today we celebrate International Women’s Day and honor the strength, compassion, and resilience of women everywhere. At Silverado, this day carries special meaning. Women make up the majority of those living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias, and they are also often the daughters, spouses, and caregivers walking alongside a loved one on the journey.

Every day, we witness the remarkable stories of the women in our community. Former teachers, mothers, leaders, artists, and trailblazers whose lives and identities continue to matter far beyond a diagnosis. We are equally inspired by the dedicated women on our team who bring expertise, empathy, and advocacy to dementia care.

Today and every day, we celebrate their stories, their contributions, and the dignity they deserve.

Today we celebrate National Maintenance Workers Day, and at Silverado, this recognition means so much more than keeping a building running. Our Plant Operations team, including maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry, helps keep the community running with the welcoming environment our residents and families rely on every single day.

From fixing the little things before anyone notices, to ensuring every space feels clean, calm, and like home, their work quietly supports dignity, connection, and quality of life. They are problem solvers, helpers, and an essential part of the care team.

The excitement was palpable as the Golden Retriever Club made their highly anticipated visit to our community! Tails wagged and hearts melted as these gentle, affectionate companions made their rounds, bringing smiles not only to our residents but to their families as well. Laughter filled the room as hands reached out for soft fur and warm nuzzles, creating beautiful moments of connection and joy.

The visit was a wonderful reminder of the comfort and happiness that animals bring, and the entire community was uplifted by the love these special four-legged friends so generously shared. 🥰🐾

Our Creative Expressions Club is a beautiful celebration of imagination, individuality, and joy. Residents gather to paint, draw, craft, and bring their ideas to life in a warm and encouraging space where creativity knows no limits. Each session is filled with laughter, storytelling, and artistic exploration as colors blend and unique masterpieces begin to take shape.

What makes this club so special is watching each resident’s personality shine through their work. No two pieces are ever the same, each creation reflects a personal touch, a cherished memory, or a spark of inspiration. The finished artwork is always admirable, proudly displayed and celebrated as a true reflection of the talent and creativity within our community.

Love was definitely in the air at our Valentine’s Day Glam Party 💕

The day started with a little sparkle as our Nexus residents enjoyed a full glam experience, complete with hair styling, makeup, and their favorite fancy outfits. Watching everyone light up when they saw themselves all dressed up was truly the highlight of the morning.

The celebration continued into the afternoon with incredible live music from the FCC Jazz Ensemble (they always know how to get the party started), delicious food, wonderful company, and plenty of dancing. Laughter filled the room, new memories were made, and joy was shared by all.

Moments like these remind us that celebration, purpose, and connection never fade. Happy Valentine’s Day from all of us ❤️
