At Frederick Health Hospice, we’re grateful for every donation, big or small.

Since their first gift of $20,000 in 1996, the FSK Car Club has contributed more than $28,000 to support our work. We’re deeply thankful for their generosity—and for the personal stories they’ve shared about how Hospice has made a difference in the lives of people that they care about.

What’s the difference between palliative care and hospice care?

“The most important thing to know,” Dr. McDonald says, “is that a palliative care team works to relieve the worst of symptoms, often from chronic illness, and improve a patient’s quality of life. Palliative care is also well-versed in hospice eligibility, and is well-equipped to help facilitate that conversation when it’s time.”

☀️ Thanks to the generous support of Hospice’s Sunshine Fund, we were able to purchase special diabetic shoes for one of our patients. Providing dignity, comfort, and compassionate care at the end of life is at the heart of our mission — and your support makes moments like this possible. We'll miss his smiling face!

The holidays are often a time for joy and togetherness, but this time of year can also remind us of those we love who are no longer with us. Grieving people often feel loneliness and despair in between holiday warmth and gratitude. These varying feelings are normal but can complicate navigating holiday traditions and activities.

At Frederick Health Hospice, we honor all the feelings you might feel this holiday season and are here to support all grieving people in our community through our grief support services. Contact us at griefsupport@frederick.health or call 240-566-3030.

Veteran John Cooper loves spending time with Music Therapist Melanie- enjoying the simple joy of singing along to his favorite songs. Beyond the fun, music therapy gently eases pain, reduces anxiety, soothes respiratory symptoms, and creates meaningful moments of connection and comfort. 🎵💛

🎁 Still looking for a meaningful gift for a loved one?

You can support Hospice with a hand-blown glass angel ornament given in memory or in honor of someone dear — or add one to your own holiday tree as a symbol of love and remembrance. Or, if you’re looking for something a little different, a blue quartz Em(brace)let from Colonial Jewelers is another beautiful way to give a gift that also gives back.

Both options support the important work of Hospice and make heartfelt gifts this season.
