Yes it absolutely can! Nothing is a for sure ‘cure all’ when it comes to nausea/morning sickness in the first trimester, though. Some ways massage can help are:
✨Stimulating Acupressure points: -PC6 (Pericardium 6): Located about three fingerbreadths above the wrist crease, this point is known for alleviating nausea.
-SP4 (Spleen 4): Found just below the base of the big toe, applying pressure here can also help soothe digestive issues.
✨Increased circulation: enhances blood flow, possibly reducing nausea and improving nutrient delivery.
✨Endorphin release: Triggers the release of endorphins to promote relaxation and ease discomfort.
✨Reduction of stress hormones: lowers cortisol levels, calming body and mind.
✨Aromatherapy: in my prenatal aromatherapy blend, I use ginger and peppermint which have both been shown to help alleviate nausea.
✨Topical Magnesium: magnesium plays a crucial role in neuromuscular function and can help regulate neurotransmitters associated with nausea and discomfort.
If you’re dealing with nausea during your pregnancy, definitely give massage a try! The link to book is in my bio ✨ Please reach out with any questions you may have about pregnancy and massage🤰🏻💆🏽♀️ ✨
