Foot massage is NOT reflexology

Although a foot massage feels really good it definitely is NOT equivalent to getting a reflexology session from a nationally certified reflexologist.

Facts:

Massage therapists often go through 500-750 hours of training in which maybe 16-20 hours of that they learn some reflexology points and information.

Reflexology certification programs are 200-300 hours in just reflexology training.

A reflexology session does not require you to undress, only shoes and socks are removed.

There are separate schooling, certification, laws, & licensing requirements for reflexologists and massage therapists.

Reflexologists in NH MUST hold a NH reflexology license in order to practice and promote which is known as a “bodyworker license”

Some massage therapists in NH promote and offer reflexology with very minimal reflexology training and who are NOT nationally certified and licensed.

*Make sure you find out if your reflexologist is properly licensed and nationally certified to offer reflexology.

Although both goals are similar in offering relaxation, stress reduction, and relief from chronic pain, they really are two separate complimentary modalities completely.
