Article in the Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ) concludes that complete decongestive therapy (CDT), if applied by a skilled therapist, shows excellent results in the treatment of lymphedema.

Officially accepting Medicare part B insurance!!! CareFirst BC/BS approved and will go live in August and Aetna to follow! Will keep updating as we become in-network with more providers!

Medicare approves 24 therapy visits for outpatient OT services. This is more than enough to complete full CDT therapy to treat chronic edema and lymphedema and establish an appropriate long-term plan with appropriate compression garments. Head and neck lymphedema? Check out a home made swell spot/foam chipped that can greatly help in softening fibrotic tissues and aiding in lymphatic decongestion. You’d be amazed at how quickly wearing this can make a BIG difference in increasing head/neck range of motion, decrease pain, increase oral motor range of motion and allowing for increased safety with swallowing and speech production.
