Today, with the addition of my son, George Stauffer II and his wife Courtney, whom are both licensed funeral directors, we carry our tradition of service into our second generation. Meet the Staff Monday with Ashley Brown:

I began my career in funeral service in 2009 as a funeral director at Stauffer Funeral Home—and I’ve never looked back. For the past 17 years, I’ve found deep meaning in working closely with families to honor their loved ones’ final wishes and plan meaningful life celebrations.

I’m grateful to work for a family-owned and operated business that truly treats the families we serve as our own. I also feel fortunate to work alongside an incredible group of colleagues every day and am especially grateful to the Stauffers, who treat their staff like family as well.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, William (who also works at Stauffer as a crematory operator), and our son, Greyson. I love cooking, exercising, traveling, and relaxing at my parents’ beach house in Cape May, NJ. I also sing in the choir at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Hagerstown, where I’ve been a lifelong member.

🎭 Fun fact: I have a minor in musical theater and love to sing and dance. While it’s been a while, I was once very active in community theater.

I’ve been with Stauffer Funeral Home for almost eight years, and what I love most is our team approach—working together to support families and guide them through life’s most difficult moments.

When I’m not at work, you can usually find me digging in the garden, experimenting in the kitchen, getting lost in a good book, or spending quality time with my family.

Did you know that through our “Honor a Veteran” program, you can retire your damaged or worn American flags by bringing them to Stauffer Funeral Homes. These flags, with the permission of the family, can be placed with a veteran at the time of his or her cremation.

Meet the Staff Monday with Kelly Zimmerman:

I’ve been a part of the Stauffer Funeral Homes team for 11 years and counting, supporting our community when they need it most is truly an honor I take very seriously.

Outside of work, I wear many hats: proud mom to a teen and college-age kids, dance mom (chauffeur duties included!), and loving wife of 27 years to Jeff—clearly, commitment runs in the family. I’m fueled by Diet Coke and love reading late into the night like it’s a competitive sport! You’ll also find me cheering on my hometown Warriors.

🏝️Dream Trip: Sunny escape to Kauai, Hawaii or St. Lucia

🐾 Fun Fact: My family and I adopt and rescue pets whenever we can
