🐾📣Important Announcement from Lucy the Therapy Dog!📣🐾

Big news…Lucy the Therapy Dog is expecting puppies! 🐶🍼

Lucy and her mate Atlas are both Cowboy Corgis. So what exactly is a Cowboy Corgi? A Cowboy Corgi is a mix between a Corgi and an Australian Cattle Dog (Heeler)—two smart, energetic herding breeds combined into one amazing pup!

As many of you know, Lucy is full of personality and energy. Like most Cowboy Corgis, she loves to run, fetch, and swim, and she’s always ready to make new friends. Lucy is incredibly friendly, social, and loving, which is what makes her such a wonderful therapy dog. Because this is a herding breed, they are very active and can have a high prey drive, so they thrive when they have things to do and people to love.

Now let’s talk about the handsome dad—Atlas!
Atlas is a very friendly guy, a little shorter than Lucy, and his coloring is absolutely stunning. He’s an active dog who loves car rides and has been raised around kids and livestock. Atlas is truly a sweet, special, and very handsome boy, and we’re excited to see what this pairing brings!

🐾 The puppies are expected around March 17th, so we’re hoping for a little Luck of the Irish with this litter! ☘️

You may notice Lucy slowing down and taking a break from visits for a while as she prepares for motherhood and then cares for her puppies.

Don’t worry—we’ll be sure to keep everyone updated as we get closer to her due date and once the puppies arrive!

Happy National Corgi Day! 🐾🎉

Today we are celebrating one very special corgi — Wags For Hope Therapy Dog Lucy! 🧡

With her short legs, big personality, and constantly wagging tail, Lucy brings smiles everywhere she goes. Whether she’s visiting schools, libraries, community events, or simply offering a comforting cuddle, Lucy proves that big hearts can come in small packages.

Lucy loves meeting new friends and spreading pawsitive vibes wherever her therapy work takes her. Her cheerful spirit, adorable corgi wiggles, and loving nature make every visit a little brighter.

When Lucy the Therapy Dog visits Frederick Health Hospital, you never know where she might pop up next! 🐾💕

From hallways to waiting areas, Lucy brings her sweet personality and silly antics wherever she goes — and these adorable little girls were absolutely loving every minute of it! Giggles, smiles, and a little corgi charm can go a long way in brightening someone’s day.

❤️🐾 Lucy’s Paw-lentine’s Day at the Thurmont Police Department! 🐾❤️

Our sweet girl Lucy the Therapy Dog had the BEST time sharing her Paw-lentine’s cards at the Thurmont Police Department during the recent Paw-lentine’s Party! 💌✨

Lucy proudly serves as a therapy dog for the department when she’s needed — offering comfort, calm, and lots of tail wags to officers and community members alike. Being part of special events like this makes her heart (and ours!) so full.

Guests and friends loved getting to see the adorable Corgi Valentine’s cards that Lucy’s corgi pals mailed to her. 🐶💕 We are so grateful to be part of such an amazing Corgi community — the cards were absolutely fantastic!

❤️🐾 Lucy Spreads Paw-lentine’s Cheer at the James M. Stockman Cancer Center 🐾❤️

Today, Lucy the Therapy Dog with Wags For Hope made her special Valentine’s Day rounds at the James M. Stockman Cancer Institute, delivering her adorable Paw-lentine’s cards and plenty of tail wags! 💌🐶

Dressed in her best heart outfit, Lucy was ready to spread love and smiles to patients and staff alike. She truly enjoys sharing her joy, and today was no exception. She even stopped for a sweet photo with some of her favorite ladies! ❤️📸

Bringing therapy dogs into a cancer center is so important. For patients undergoing treatment, the days can be long, stressful, and emotionally exhausting. A therapy dog visit provides:

✨ A moment of comfort and calm
✨ Reduced stress and anxiety
✨ A boost in mood and emotional well-being
✨ A reminder that they are supported and not alone

Sometimes the simplest things — a gentle nuzzle, a warm paw, or a happy tail wag — can make the biggest difference. Lucy is honored to bring light into difficult days and to remind everyone that love and hope are always close by.

Lucy the Therapy Dog had the sweetest visit to Autumn Lake at Ballenger Creek! 🐶💖

Lucy quickly made some best friends, but one visit truly touched our hearts. She spent special time with a patient who is vision impaired, and it was such a joy describing Lucy’s beautiful outfit—her pink dress with a heart-filled tutu—so it could be pictured through words and smiles. 💗✨

Moments like these remind us how powerful connection can be, whether seen or felt.

We can’t wait to go back and share more love, tail wags, and cuddles. See you again on Sunday, Autumn Lake! 🐾💕
