Pink eye (conjunctivitis) is common in kids and can be caused by viruses, bacteria, or allergies. Symptoms include:
Red, itchy, or watery eyes
Discharge that may make eyelashes stick together
Sensitivity to light
What to do:
Keep hands clean and avoid touching eyes
Use separate towels and pillows to prevent spreading
Viral pink eye usually clears on its own
Bacterial pink eye may need antibiotic eye drops (your pediatrician will advise)
💡 Tip: If your child has pink eye, keep them home from school or daycare until cleared by a provider.
