The Frederick community showed up last night to support the Mental Health Association of Frederick County (MHA)! I'm proud to support this organization and sponsor this important fundraising event each year.

All of the proceeds from the Catoctin Affair are unrestricted donations to MHA. This means that every dollar raised helps people when they need it most.

If you weren't there last night, it's not too late to ensure MHA’s mission continues to make a difference.

Grief is a time traveler.

Thanks to What's Your Grief for providing such an accurate visual.

Grief doesn’t move in neat stages. It can show up in the present (your day-to-day life), reach back into the past (memories, regrets, longing), and hit you in the future (milestones, fears, what will never be). And sometimes it all shows up at once.

If you’ve been thinking, “I should be further along,” this is your reminder: you’re not doing grief wrong. You’re experiencing how big grief really is.

Save this for the days you need the reminder.

I was recently invited to speak to parents at New Market Elementary School at their Healthy Minds, Healthy Kids event.

The main takeaways?
👉 The problem is not anxiety. The problem is avoidance.
👉 Avoidance makes anxiety stronger.

Thanks to the American Psychological Association for sharing these important suggestions for parents!

"Privacy matters to teens—and respecting it is an important part of healthy development. But when it comes to AI, perceived safety isn’t always real safety.

Psychologists encourage parents to stay connected, talk openly about privacy, and help teens think critically about what they share with chatbots."
