*What's Lighting Me Up This Week*

I recently finished reading a great book recommended to me by one of my wonderful clients called Nosso Lar: Life in the Spirit World by Francisco Candido Xavier (aka Chico Xavier), dictated by the spirit Andre Luiz.

Chico Xavier was a very popular Brazilian medium in the 20th century who wrote close to 500 books using automatic writing, wherein spirit wrote through him.

Nosso Lar (Portuguese for “Our Home”) was published in 1944 and recounts the experience of a spirit being named Andre Luiz as he returns to the spirit world. Andre describes Nosso Lar as a transitional spirit colony where some spirits come to experience a stage of recovery, healing, and spiritual education before they are able to reincarnate again. The society is focused on labor and service, and is highly organized with 6 Ministries (e.g., Regeneration, Assistance, Communication, etc) that connect them both to the terrestrial realm (aka Earth) and the higher planes.

During his time in Nosso Lar, Andre begins to see the ways in which he did not fulfill his previous life’s purpose, and starts to slowly open up to the importance of humility, service, and love.

While I personally like to believe that the spirit world is much more vast than we can understand or know while incarnated here and while also acknowledging that any channeling or automatic writing necessarily contains the specific imprints or perspective of the channeler in some ways, it’s a beautiful, haunting book that offers a reminder of how deeply interconnected we all are.

Lady: Enjoy Growth and Reap Rewards

I was so happy to pull this card for the weeks ahead. As you may know, Tuesday signaled the beginning of the lunar new year, bringing us out of the year of the snake and into the year of the fire horse!

The energy of the fire horse is similar to the energy that the Lady offers us: a feeling of momentum, abundance, and expansion.

After all of the shedding we’ve been asked to do, it’s time now to open to receiving abundance in all of its forms, whether through an increase in opportunities coming our way, financial success, relationship healing, new life, and more.

Allow yourself to be propelled forward with this shift in energy, and keep your heart open for unexpected miracles!

*When Your Spoon Just Won’t Bend: Learning from Failure*

I know you’ve been waiting on the edge of your seat to hear about my latest meditation retreat with The Monroe Institute, MC Squared!

I’m happy to report that it was a similarly profound experience as with the Gateway Voyage (if you missed that post, you can head here), but in different ways. While Gateway took me out of this world, MC Squared brought me more deeply into my inner world.

Over the course of the week, through a combination of lecture, discussion, meditations, journaling, and exercises, we sought to release any beliefs, stories, and fears that may be standing in the way of harnessing our innate power to heal, manifest, and impact the structure of physical reality and matter.

This is no small feat and certainly the work of a lifetime for most of us.

One of the exercises during the week was spoon-bending – bending, twisting, and re-shaping metal silverware using the power of your heart/mind/intention. I took a short spoon-bending course a few years ago, and was absolutely bowled over when I was able to bend my previously unbendable spoon.

Given how much I’ve grown and expanded since that time, I figured it would be pretty easy so I got myself a thicker spoon and was aiming to also twist a fork and/or the fork tines. While I did manage to bend the fork, I had no luck with twisting or with the spoon.

Immediately, I felt myself slipping into ego mode – what’s wrong with me? Why can’t I do this? Why does it seem like it’s coming so much more easily to others in the group?

But then just as quickly as I entered the land of judgment and comparison, I made a U-turn. I knew that this experience was happening for me, that seeing and processing the thoughts/feelings that were bubbling up was much more important for my evolution than if I had easily bent the spoon again.

I took a deep breath and acknowledged what I knew to be true in that moment: that I’m unlimited and powerful beyond my understanding, that I don’t need to be able to bend a spoon to prove that to myself or anyone else, and that I am worthy of love and acceptance regardless of what I can or can’t do. And, I put the spoon away for another day, offering myself love and compassion instead.

It’s often said that the greatest learning usually happens in these moments of so-called failure, if we can pause long enough to seek for meaning. So next time you feel like you aren’t measuring up or a challenge is feeling insurmountable, remember that there may be gold underneath the frustration/upset/judgment, and that you’re absolutely perfect just as you are!

*What's Lighting Me Up This Week*

I’ve been playing a song on repeat this week that came on shuffle unexpectedly the other day. It’s called Water Flow by Klyne (a Dutch electro-R&b duo) and somehow it missed me when it came out back in 2017.

It’s a beautiful track that speaks to releasing worries, stress, fears, and stories, while trusting that on the other side of this transformation there will be love.

Given that we as humans are mostly water, the lyrics are also a great reminder for us to flow with the changes of life, and to know that there is an ocean of connection, love, and support that always exists within and around us.

So hit play, let your body flow, and enjoy! :)

Snake & Animal Guardian

Shed Old Skin & Trust Your Instincts

The first card I pulled for the week ahead is the Snake with a message of releasing and casting off the old so that your true self can be revealed.

I was curious to get a little more guidance/insight around this energy so I pulled a second card: the Animal Guardian speaks to both the support and connection we receive from the animal kingdom, as well as the instinctive animal energy that we carry within ourselves.

As you’re releasing that which no longer serves you, connect with how you really feel, how you want to feel, and what you’re needing. Don’t second guess yourself. When you trust your instincts and intuition as animals do, you create the space to soar and to fly towards the future you’ve been building.

*One Powerful Week That Blew My Mind: Consciousness Explorations!*

Have you ever heard of the Gateway Voyage?

It sounds a bit like something out of Star Trek, but it’s actually a week-long meditation program to expand your awareness and experience of different dimensions of consciousness.

Some background: the program is offered by the Monroe Institute and was created by Bob Monroe. Bob is the fella who developed the sound technology called “Hemi-Sync” (aka binaural beats), which entrains your brainwaves to specific frequencies during meditation for specific purposes (e.g., if you want to focus, you might choose to listen to something that has you in beta or gamma frequencies, but if you want to experience deep sleep, you would instead tune into delta waves).

During the Gateway Voyage, you use Hemi-Sync meditations, in addition to a handful of preparatory techniques (e.g., vocal tuning, creating an energy balloon, setting an intention and saying an affirmation, etc.), to journey to different realms of consciousness, interact with non-physical beings, and ultimately come to know and understand yourself on a much deeper level.

I had an opportunity to participate in the Gateway Voyage a couple of years ago and it was without a doubt one of the most amazing, mystical, magical experiences I’ve ever had.

I received clarity on a dream visit from a loved one in spirit; connected with a very cool dragon friend and some star beings; sent healing to my younger self; spent some time hanging out with my loved ones in spirit; channeled 5 insightful messages for myself, and more!

While some of the meditations or practices didn’t land for me, overall, it was incredibly beautiful. The signs and synchronicities were pouring in that week; the energy was so high, I often felt like I was floating. I’d never had such a direct experience of how interconnected and profoundly supported we all are, how vast existence is, and how infinite and powerful I am.

And, this week, I’m back for more! I’m in the middle of the follow-up to the Gateway Voyage, called MC Squared, where the focus is on learning to influence physical matter with the mind!

*What's Lighting Me Up This Week*

Angel expert and all-around wonderful human being Kyle Gray has been hosting monthly Crown of Mary prayer circles to connect more deeply with Mother Mary’s story and energy.

In this month’s gathering, Kyle shared the story of Mary going to meet her older cousin Elizabeth shortly after the angel Gabriel had told Mary she would give birth to Jesus. Upon arriving, Elizabeth immediately recognizes that Mary is carrying the Messiah, and in this moment, Mary feels seen and comforted in what she is experiencing.

Kyle led a guided meditation to allow us to connect with this moment, and the energy of the beings in our lives who truly see and accept us as we are.

As he started the meditation and we were coming into connection with our breath, he said 5 simple words that had a profound impact on me: “Become aware of God’s presence.”

There was something about this guidance that landed so deeply for me in that moment. To become aware of God’s presence (or Love or the animating force of the universe or whatever you call it) is to know that it is always and eternally within and all around us. I could immediately feel so much love simply by tuning into this awareness that it brought me to tears.

Since then, this little mantra has been circling through my thoughts every day. As I’m on a walk, “become aware of God’s presence;” as I’m feeling stressed about work, “become aware of God’s presence;” when I’m navigating a challenge or feeling alone, “become aware of God’s presence;” when I watch the snow falling outside my window, “become aware of God’s presence.”

It’s both an anchor and a reminder that we are love and we are never alone.

Star Ancestor: Follow the Voice of Your Soul

The Star Ancestor refers to the extraterrestrial light beings who are divine embodiments of love bringing wisdom from other realms.

The Star Ancestor is a reminder that you have otherworldly support. If you have been feeling lonely, alone, and/or lost, know that these beings are with you, and that they can support you in connecting with your soul’s true calling.

Pay attention to information that feels inspired, particular directions that feel like they are calling to you, and anything that lights up your heart. These are all ways that our star ancestors guide us, and allow us to hear the voice of our soul more clearly so that we may fulfill the deeper purpose of our human journey.

*No Good Deed Goes Unnoticed: The Animals Are Cheering You On!*

Do you ever wonder if your animal appreciates you and the things you do for them?

Spoiler alert: they sure do and, in fact, they see much more of you than you realize!

I recently communicated with a dog who kept mentioning all the things her pet parents had done that she was grateful for – from changing her food to swapping out the metal tag on her collar with something quieter to going forward with a knee surgery so she could run freely again to the moments they take to simply be present with her.

We do so much for our animal companions, typically without any real sense of how they might feel about it, simply wishing and hoping that what we’re doing will make them happier. And so much more often than we realize, we’re getting it right!

I believe this is partly because everyone is an animal communicator. So, that idea to buy your dog a new bed may feel like it came from you, but there’s a good chance it dropped into your consciousness through your pup (they don’t mind if you take the credit, as long as they get the new bed! Ha).

Animals also notice all the small things that we do, the little acts that go unnoticed. For example, one cat was telling me how loving her mom is. She showed me her mom finding a bug in their home and gently bringing it outside. My client started to tear up and said she had just done this the day before. She was so touched that her cat wanted to share this small act of kindness with me, and she felt seen in this gesture being lifted up as a representation of her loving heart and spirit.

So often, animals will also comment on how giving their people are and how much they do for others (with the caveat to make sure they’re also giving to themselves!).

And, because our animal friends are always encouraging our own growth, when you get up the courage to try something new, start judging yourself less, or taking more time for yourself, they notice all of this and are cheering you on!

So next time you do something for your animal friend or you simply act from a place of love and kindness towards yourself or others, know that the animals in your life see you and applaud you!

*What's Lighting Me Up This Week*

I recently finished reading a sweet, tender, humorous novel at my mom’s recommendation entitled, "I See You’ve Called in Dead" by John Kenney.

The book focuses on obituary writer Bud Stanley whose life is in shambles, especially after he drunkenly publishes his own obituary one night. While “he awaits his fate at work, he does the only logical thing: He goes to the wakes and funerals of total strangers to learn how to live again.”

Kenney has a way of writing about pain and loss with such clarity. And the humor that’s present throughout the book is so poignant—a reminder that even when we’re in the lowest places, we can still laugh at the absurdity of it all, we can still love others, and we can still move forward in our lives allowing the laughter and tears to become part of the same tapestry of our existence.

Arrow: Surround Yourself with Protective Energy

Arrows have long been seen as symbols of protection. At this time, there may be people, situations, or energies that don’t feel fully aligned with your intentions or energy. This card encourages you to call on your angels, guides, and ancestors to bring you protection and support.

The start of the year can be a delicate time, especially given all that we have been releasing and shedding from last year. Be gentle with yourself and make sure that you are choosing to interact with people who feel safe, and experiences that feel supportive and uplifting to you.

When possible, it can be a good idea to take time to retreat and rest in your own energy. From this place, the voice of your intuition and any guidance you’re needing to receive becomes much clearer.

*5 Great Reasons to Start the Year with a Reading: Treat Yourself!*

Happy New Year and Welcome to 2026!

One of my favorite things to do at the start of a new year is book a reading!

I love to connect with others in my field, and experience their process and the information they have to share with me. This year, I’ve booked a trance reading with one of my teachers, Diane Simmons, and I couldn’t be more excited.

No two psychics/mediums/animal communicators will receive the exact same thing nor will they present or articulate what they’re receiving in the same way—this makes every reading a special and unique experience.

Similarly, there may be some readers with whom you feel deeply connected and aligned, whereas others may not feel like as strong of a fit. Allowing yourself the opportunity to book readings with a variety of individuals can help you identify who feels like the best fit.

And there are also so many different options as far as the readings offered from astro cartography to energy healing, psychic aura readings, and more!

If you’re interested in booking a reading with me to gain some insights, guidance, and clarity for the year ahead, my “open readings” would be your best bet! The open readings are by far my most popular offering, and my personal favorite. During these readings, I open the space to loved ones in spirit, animals, angels, ancestors, guides, and your own higher soul to share anything that would be most helpful for you to know.

The readings are dynamic and beautiful, sometimes sticking with one communicator throughout and other times moving from a loved one to an animal to an angel. But always sharing information that is supportive, loving, and encouraging!
