Let’s debunk the yoga myths friends! 🧘‍♀️

Flexibility is very commonly associated with yoga. And yes, there are many components about an asana focused yoga practice where flexibility is a star. 🌟 BUT you don’t have to be flexible to begin or come back to your yoga practice!

To me, that’s the most beautiful part of yoga… it meets you exactly where you in any given breath or moment. Flexible one day and less the next? Yoga is there to guide you. Mind buzzing with thoughts one breath and steady the next? Yoga is there to guide you. 🩷

The energy and intentions poured into our studio space at More Yoga Please is meant to greet you with open and welcome arms… no matter where you are on your life journey. Join us as classes start next month! (Opening date being announced soon!) ✨

Let’s do it! Let’s make yoga our way of LIFE ✨❤️

But what does that look like? How can we practice these 8 limbs in our day?

1. Yama
This is our social behavior… how are we reacting in traffic? With patience? Or aggression? Do we exaggerate the truth? Or are we honest from our heart?

2. Niyama
This is our inner hygiene and discipline… do we keep a clean space (at home or your work desk)? Do we practice moments of gratitude? Do we take time to self reflect?

3. Asana
This is the care to our physical body… are we coming to More Yoga Please for yoga classes? 👀❤️

4. Pranayama
This is your attention to breath… are we just letting our body breathe for us automatically? Or do we turn our focus towards conscious breath? Are we going to More Yoga Please for breath work? 👀❤️

5. Pratyahara
This is a withdrawal of the senses… do we take time to put our phone away? Do we make time for low stimulation?

6. Dharana
This is training your attention… can you stay present with your breath? Do you intentionally focus on a single task or find yourself constantly multitasking?

7. Dhyana
This is meditation… are you able to sit quietly without being consumed by your to do list? Can you be fully absorbed in the present moment?

8. Samadhi
This is bliss… do you experience moments of peace, clarity, or unity?

At More Yoga Please, we’ll help you incorporate yoga into all aspects of your life! Well love sharing the asana practice on the mat… but we can actively build our community and connections off the mat too. 🩷🩷
