I am blessed to have worked in this field now for over 20 years- but sadly - DSP’s- Direct Support Professionals-Do not get the recognition they deserve, they are on the front lines every day supporting and advocating for people with disabilities to lead safe, active and engaging lives!! These people deserve so much recognition especially NOW with all that is going on, they are there everyday making sure that the Individuals they work with remain safe and virus free, being away from their own families and not having the luxury to stay home- they are essential staff.. and what they do every day is beyond just doing a Job.. nurses, MH aides get recognized in times of crisis, but so should DSP’s- I cannot express my appreciation of the men and women who work with me for their ongoing dedication . THANK YOU!!! ❤️
