Attention any hearing aid user who has their hearing aids paired with a cell phone: This alert is happening today starting at 2:20 pm. It is advisable to turn off your bluetooth to disconnect your phone from your hearing aids prior to that time. Alternatively, you can set your phone to Wi-Fi only or airplane mode (you won't receive the alert because the message goes out over the cellular broadcast system).

Your phone could belt out a terrifying emergency alert sound. Here's when it's going to happen and why we can't play the sound for you.

Great article about OTC hearing aids! I do recommend seeing a hearing care professional prior to purchasing an over-the-counter device just to rule out any medical issues with the ears.
