I recently had the joy of accompanying my sister-in-law to one of her visits at her birthing center a few weeks ago. I was deeply moved by a piece of artwork there. It beautifully captures the essence of women supporting and nurturing one another, especially during childbirth. It’s truly powerful.

The journey of bringing new life into the world is one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences for a woman. It’s an incredible honor to be part of the journey through birth and motherhood. I eagerly anticipate what the coming weeks will bring.

Happy World Breast Feeding Week to all the mamas!!

Breastfeeding has been the most tiresome, exhausting, rewarding and breathtaking experience all wrap up in one. I applaud all my moms out their doing it because it is as no means easy.

Remember in the grand scheme of this week is to do what’s best for you and your baby. Even if bottle is what’s best for you and your family 💜

I’ve been on a very long hiatus with being pregnant then navigating life as a family of Five. But I’m back. I’ve been attending appointments and finally back on call again and it feels great.

My oldest daughter took this picture of me. When I had no idea she was snapping pictures, so yes this is a very real and raw picture of me and my newest daughter. As women I feel like we’re quick to beat ourselves up but step back and really take a in-depth look about all the good you’ve done in just your day. The beauty that holds our home, life, and family together.

We are strong, intelligent, and beautiful women!

This past week I entered my third trimester. I got to reflect on my past clients this year.

The hands I held when they were scared, the hair I brushed from the mom’s faces and the sweat I dabbed from their foreheads. These are all extremely tender, sweet, moments I get to share with each mom.

Each week I get closer to my baby’s estimated birth date, I hold the spirit and strength of each of my clients. It gives me a special reminder of what my clients go through. And I’m so proud of them. ❤️

Their strength drives me.

The amount of oxytocin that is released after birth is anywhere between 50ml to 2000ml.

It was tear inducing watching this mama birth her baby girl (tears of joy). The pure joy that flowed from both parents was absolutely incredible. So honored to serve this family. 💜

Note: this mom and dad made decisions that they decided on their own. I helped educate them on all possibilities and outcomes. This is what doulas are there for.

As I sat yesterday waiting for my prenatal to start I reflected back on how many emotions this one room can hold.

Love, disappointment, courage, anger, anxiousness, gratefulness, and strength are just to name a few.

It’s my pleasure to help serve and hold this space for all my laboring mothers.

Being a doula means having the chance of missing out on family events no matter how far in advance you plan because babies come on their own time!

This morning I got to be apart of a beautiful and successful birth, while still making it to my soon to be SIL’s bridal shower.

Even though plans may have to change in a moments notice, I still wouldn’t want it any other way ☺️

My welcome party for being gone 16 hours!

I learned so much at this last birth. First time natural labors can be very long and having a patient mindset is what’s most helpful for everyone. It’s important for mamas to get ahead of the labor and rest and then rest some more. And some mamas just need space to labor.

This was a wonderful experience to be apart of and it my first home birth! 😊
