The Love of Friendships…the Love of Family
Some current and retired Stafford Sheriff’s Office members got together recently to break bread and catch up on life. They gathered at the home of Chief & Inspector Dave Varrelman, whose law enforcement career spanned a total of 64 years of dedicated service, his last 22 years with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

These relationships run deeper than friendships and more like family. It’s a bond written in trust, and strengthened by years of standing shoulder to shoulder when the times were good, and when times were challenging. It’s a fellowship rooted in loyalty, honor, and a lifetime of respect and having each other’s backs.
In life, nothing is forever. The time comes when we must say goodbye to the career and professional life we once knew, and move on. And when we do, it’s natural for us to make new friends…but it’s very important that we keep the old ones!
Let’s remember, blood makes you related…but it's loyalty, trust and love that make you family.
