It has taken me at least three years to complete this book with real stories, including Angelo's true story of his how battle with addiction. When people say "Check and your strong friends," what we mean is that often times we are the ones that DON'T cry out for help.
We internalize everything until we IMPLODE on some poor unsuspecting person. Could be the husband, a friend, or even the kids.
Why?
We are always look upon as the "strong one" and we hurt ourselves more unintentionally living up to that stereotype.
We are only strong because most times we have to be. There are rarely moments in our world where we can just let our guard down and no one us depending on us to "get something done."
Check on your strong friends because sometimes we are barely holding it together regardless of what it may look like from the outside looking in.
She could be any one of us.
