Personal Care Attendants provide service to individuals in their own homes and communities, who need assistance caring for themselves as a result of old age, sickness, disability and/or other infliction. Personal Care may include assistance with the activities of daily living, housecleaning, laundry, meal preparation etc.

Qualifications: Knowledge of personal care and home management skills. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client and personal care services, including needs determinants, meeting quality standards and evaluation of client satisfaction. Knowledge of the English language. Knowledge of the information and techniques needed for first aid and cpr. Knowledge of clerical procedures such as maintaining records and completing forms.

Maine Legislation Allows Spouses to Be Reimbursed by Medicaid for Home Care Support.

VIRGINIA NEED TO ADAPT THIS LEGISLATION ASAP. It only makes good sense. Many Virginia DMAS rules governing the Waivers and other programs are arbitrarily adopted arbitrarily enforced and wholly antiquated. Having 6 different insurance companies impose their own self serving CCC+ policies makes the water evern murkier.

Recently, legislators in Maine passed a bill that will allow spouses to be reimbursed by Medicaid for the support they provide. In the past, these men and women were not eligible for Medicaid reimbursement as a spouse.
