An Abbreviated Breast MRI is the latest technology for screening women who are at intermediate to average risk for breast cancer. This screening is a self-pay exam option for women who have had a normal screening mammogram within the last year, have dense breasts, have no significant family history of breast cancer, and do not qualify for a diagnostic breast MRI.

This supplemental screening has a 95% sensitivity in finding breast cancer and offers a much faster screening time.

A 3D mammogram provides better images for screening and diagnosis. It’s like seeing the pages inside a book, instead of just the front and back cover. During the exam, the X-ray arm sweeps in a slight arc over your breast, taking multiple images that create a 3-dimensional image of your breast tissue.

The experience of a 3D mammogram is similar to that of a standard mammogram and can be scheduled at our locations in Lee's Hill, King George, Harrison Crossing, Embrey Mill, and both the Imaging Centers for Women in Fredericksburg and North Strafford.
