Handwashing is one of the simplest yet most powerful ways to protect your health and the health of those around you. Every day, our hands come into contact with countless surfaces—door handles, phones, keyboards—that can harbor harmful germs and bacteria. Without proper hygiene, these germs can easily spread and cause illnesses like colds, flu, and even more serious infections.
Why is it important?
Prevents illness: Washing your hands with soap and water removes germs that can make you sick.
Stops the spread: Clean hands help prevent germs from spreading to others, especially in shared spaces.
Protects vulnerable groups: Children, older adults, and those with weakened immune systems rely on our good hygiene habits.
Handwashing isn’t just a routine—it’s a powerful shield against illness. Make it a daily priority for your health and the health of others!

On this Veterans Day, we pause to reflect on the incredible sacrifices made by those who wore the uniform. Behind every medal, every salute, and every story is a life dedicated to protecting freedom and serving others.
To all veterans — you are the heartbeat of our nation’s history. Your courage and resilience inspire us every day. Today isn’t just about remembering your service; it’s about recognizing the strength, love, and humanity that carried you through.
From our family to yours, thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your unwavering commitment to our country. We are forever grateful.
Happy Veterans Day.
May your day be filled with peace, pride, and the appreciation you so deeply deserve.

We had a spooktacular time at the Matthews Haunting in the Park Trunk or Treat this past Saturday! It was such a treat seeing all the little ghouls, goblins, and magical creatures out and about.
Our amazing branch managers brought the magic of Hocus Pocus to life:
🧙‍♀️Jennifer Ward as the enchanting Winnie
🧟‍♂️Shane Wicker as the unforgettable Billie
🧙‍♀️Sheryl Carter as the mischievous Mary
🧙‍♀️Rebecca Aters as the lovely Sarah, joined by her adorable grandchildren:
🐈‍⬛Legend and Layton as Binx the cat
🎒Larah as the adventurous Dani
All while being expertly supervised by Zachary Wicker, our very own Keeper of the Black Flame Candle, and on Security Duty was Cayson, Sheryl’s nephew, who rocked it as the Karate Kid! 🥋
Thank you to everyone who came out and made the event so memorable. Wishing you all a safe, sweet, and spooky Halloween — from all of us at Caring Hands In Home Care!

If you or someone in your household uses oxygen therapy at home, safety is essential. Oxygen helps you breathe easier, but it also increases the risk of fire and injury if not handled properly. Treat it with care and respect to stay safe.

Safety Tips for Online Shopping
Online shopping offers convenience and access to a wide range of products, but it's important to stay safe while browsing and buying. The holiday season is a wonderful time to shop for gifts and essentials online—but it's also a time when scammers are more active.
Here are some essential tips to help shop online with confidence:
1. Shop from Trusted Websites
Stick to well-known retailers or websites you’ve used before. Look for secure URLs that start with https:// and a padlock icon in the address bar.
2. Use Strong Passwords
Create strong, unique passwords for your shopping accounts. Avoid using personal information like your birthdate or name. Consider using a password manager to keep track.
3. Avoid Public Wi-Fi
Never enter personal or payment information while connected to public Wi-Fi. Use a secure, private internet connection at home.
4. Watch for Scams and Fake Deals
If a deal looks too good to be true, it probably is. Be cautious of emails or ads that offer unbelievable discounts or ask for urgent action.
5. Use Credit Cards, Not Debit Cards
Credit cards offer better fraud protection than debit cards. Some cards also offer virtual numbers for added security.
6. Keep Software Updated
Make sure your computer, tablet, or smartphone has the latest updates and antivirus protection to guard against malware and phishing attempts.
7. Check Return Policies
Before buying, review the seller’s return and refund policies. This helps avoid surprises if the item doesn’t meet expectations.
8. Monitor Your Bank Statements
Regularly check your bank and credit card statements for any unfamiliar charges. Report suspicious activity immediately.

We’re proud to highlight the dedicated work of Nurse Cynthia from Caring Hands, along with Sydney, Branch Manager of Fredericktown, and Bailey, Branch Manager of Desloge, who recently hosted a Blood Pressure Clinic at Orchard View Apartments in Farmington.
High blood pressure (hypertension) is often called the “silent killer” because it typically has no symptoms but can lead to serious health issues like heart disease, stroke, and kidney problems. Regular monitoring helps detect issues early before symptoms appear.
It’s not just about checking numbers—it’s about empowering individuals with knowledge and encouraging proactive steps toward better heart health. By offering free blood pressure screenings and education, we help raise awareness of how small actions like regular monitoring can make a big difference in preventing serious health issues.
Thank you to Orchard View Apartments for hosting, and to everyone who came out to support this important initiative!

Falling isn't a normal part of aging—it’s preventable with practical steps. Even minor falls can lead to fractures, head injuries, or long-term disability. Fear of falling may cause older adults to limit movement, leading to isolation and decreased physical fitness. By staying active, updating your health care, and making your environment safe, you can greatly reduce your fall risk and maintain independence.

A time to honor the strength of survivors, remember those we've lost, and raise awareness that can save lives.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide, with 1 in 8 women in the U.S. expected to be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in her lifetime. In 2025 alone, over 316,000 women and 2,800 men are projected to be diagnosed in the U.S.
But there is hope. Thanks to early detection and improved treatments, the five-year survival rate for localized breast cancer is now over 90%.
What You Can Do:
Get screened: Mammograms save lives. Women aged 40+ should talk to their doctor about regular screenings.
Support others: Whether it's offering a ride to treatment, joining a fundraiser, or simply listening, your support matters.
Share stories: Survivors remind us that early detection and persistence can make all the difference.
This Year’s Global Theme is “Every Story is Unique, Every Journey Matters” — a reminder that behind every diagnosis is a person with courage, resilience, and hope.
